I will most likely have Takeda as a secondary, but I'll just have to see when the game comes out.
Folks, it's never smart to pick your secondary before you know how he can help your main!

Alright, so this is completely correct I guess. The sword thing, not sure about the hate thing. :confused: I don't know why I was certain that Kenshi's TK was innate. I thought it had something to do with his ancestors awakening it, not the sword bestowing it. Sorry for the confusion.

This would mean also that it would be odd for Takeda to have TK abilities. I feel like there's some vagueness in wording, or perhaps it's not been explained the same way in different games? (I might have gotten my impression from Deception, corrected info about the sword came from MKDA Konquest mode)

So yep, I was completely wrong. Still think they could give him some TK, but they'll have to make a clear statement about how/why.

It's all good, bro. Most people who aren't insane lore nazis think Kenshi's TK is either innate or from Ermac cause his DA / MK9 bio doesn't say shit about how he got it. Here's the only "official" word;

It does however state that he learned the lift from Ermac, which is why he has no lift in MK9.

As for Takeda, things might not be as absolute as I said before. Up until today Takeda has never had anything good to say about Kenshi (I have no father) and that was before he knew Kenshi was the reason his mom was killed. That said, some stuff happens in todays issue that might recast Kenshi in a positive light to him. With Kenshi having a possessed variation in game, there might be a father son redemption arc in mkxs plot.

Also.. he's quiet and well mannered but with an angry streak, and is the "nice" one of the group. Interesting.

I think I'll use him, hopefully he won't be that popular. I like lesser popular characters as far as being used a lot.

I also like how he looks asian like Scorpion, Kung Lao and Kung Jin. Though Kung Jin by his outfit reminds me of an honor guard or something lol.

But if he's good for zoning with those arm whips definitely going to use him.

Also i love how they show him have the shocked face multiple times in the comic and even do it in the story trailer when scorpion throws the spear at him. It's going to be his signature look lol.

All I can say is, holy shit!!!

My one big question is how his ground explosives work. In the "Scorpion" stance, he can throw those 3 knives on the ground that explode when he lets go of the button. I wonder how long he can delay them, and if he can detonate them while in hit/block stun (as well as if they last after he gets hit).

With the single exploding ground knife, it seemed to last even after he got hit, but it also seemed like a separate input was used to detonate the knife, making me think he can't actually detonate it while in hit/block stun.

i really liked his animations it looked more like ninjustu rather than what scorpian does

my only gripe is him speaking and his main outfit. hoping he gets a good alternate.

After watching today's stream, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind my day 1 main is takeda. He looked so dope, and those whips. Those whips are glorious. His ronin variation is awesome with that ares trait with the sword. AND he can cancel his tele?! Ggs.

I think we can officially shuck the validity of the casting call. It's been wrong on several details now. It must've been early, if not cancelled entirely.

Yeah, tele-cancels looks like they'll make him even more of a nightmare to deal with.
