We are returned! Death to the False Emperor!
So, it's true, people are really complaining everytime. Impressive.

Maybe because it was a leaked interview, and not an actual reveal or something?
That makes it even worse in my opinion. Just how careless are NRS with leaks? I don't think a defence to how they deal with leaks is that their response was leaked

They don't care because the next stream will be about that, so they just have to wait some days and these leaks (at least for Kenshi and Johnny) will be gone, imo.

Savagely beating his super-ego with his id...
Eh? The trailer shows Shinnok being sucked into the amulet, how does that mean he's playable? People will know Erron from the comics, and with all the buildup there's been around him I don't see why he wouldn't be playable. He even had a rifle in one shot but not in another suggesting he could have variations. Perosnally I want to see Shinnok but there's nothing in the story trailer that makes it look like he's playable...

"Mission accumplished"
Hes playable because he IS... Not because of the trailer... So is Erron... I am once again this whole time agreeing with you but giving the most likely reason why Ed said 5 when there are clearly more people in the trailer playable... :p

NRS did not leak it... A game site posted the interview and broke the NDA before they were supposed to.. We had the vid taken down... Third party makes nothing worse... You are impatient and reaching...

I have to be honest, for me the hype is ebbing away. I've been hyped and pumped since June but I just want the game at this stage. NRS is still trying to play their cards close to their chest after another major leak and it's just frustrating for me to have NRS acting as though there's still so much to reveal and being coy about everything. The only thing they have left to reveal is Goro and they've been cockteasing us with Goro since September. Hell, at the PS Experience in December they promised Goro gameplay 'really soon'. Again, I'm not hyped to see Goro anymore, I'm just frustrated that almost a month before release we still haven't seen a character announced in September.

I mean, we know who's in the game (LBSH) so what's the harm in confirming it properly? Not Urbano name dropping Cage but give us a quick gameplay trailer or a few pictures of him. Yeah, it's not how it was envisaged as going down and there's a marketing strategy in place, but the roster is basically leaked at this stage. Any marketing plan in place was predicated on not having your info leaked and stills of the three biggest reveals left leaked. Adjust. The only question it's the 25 we know or if Rain is in there too.

And yeah you could say that's the object of the marketing, to get me impatient to play the game but NRS could re-release MKA for no reason and I'd still buy it. And if the object of the marketing and playing coy is to hype it to the casuals, well then the leaks have royally sodomised that.

I dunno, I guess I'm just tired of 9 months of this waiting
I share your frustration for Goro gameplay, as I also thought that we were going to be seeing him pretty soon back in December. But don't worry, we're practically just a month away from having the entire game :)

One thing that has been frustrating me is the slooooooow crawwwwwwwl of reveals for the game. When you consider how close the game is to being released, its surprising just how much of the game we haven't seen yet (All leaks aside, of course). I'm pretty sure that we won't know the full roster of the game until day one of it's release, which is pretty rare for a fighting game. My hype for this game cannot be contained but by this point I want to see more. We're around 30 days away and we still haven't seen or heard anything of the krypt, arcade ladders, challenge towers (or daily challenges), online multiplayer, detailed variations descriptions for FerraTorr and others, several stages and of course the 7+ characters yet to be revealed plus the recent slew of revealed chaacters for which we have seen zero gameplay.

And I'm starting to think there won't be a stream this Thursday :(

i think it would be disgusting to know everything about the game before the release. all of this mistery and 'unknown stuff' about the game (krypt etc...) keep us hyped. if we get to know everything.... well, we would loose interest in the game. the most is unknown the most we can 'create with the mind' if we already know the roster... well, maybe we would stop talking about the game. i think this is also marketing

i have the different effect. the more i see the more i get hyped. the less i see the more i get bored.

I definitely do not want to know everything about the game. I think they should focus on showing us the characters that are revealed. Not to mention the long over due game play for Goro. I'm gonna go on a limb and say they will stream every week when the game is 21 days from release.

Posed the question before, not trying to troll.. I seriously don't know. Why are people like 100% convinced that some characters in the "character reveal trailer" are absolutely playable but others aren't?

Aside from the obvious ones where gameplay footage was shown, I don't understand it. Peopple are usually all, "because comic story."

I've never been a comic book kid. How closely do games follow comic book story lines? Is there a legitimate reason to use the comics as an indication as to who's playable? why?
Why would they create whole new characters, put them in the story mode and comic, and not have them playable? I assume you are referring to Erron Black anyway. Truth is he could be an npc but it would be quite strange if he was.

Well you make a good point, as there is a lot of hype concerning the mystery of the game and what we might yet see. But I'd like to point out that we've pretty much already stopped talking about the game since the last reveal :)

They released the story trailer over a week ago, and for several days it generated a lot of good discussion for the new characters and a lot of speculation for who remains. This discussion ended very quickly and now people are just arguing over the leaked character list, including MANY players who feel that Sonya, Jax, and/or Johnny don't deserve to be in the game (morons....).

I've been combing the forums every day since the story trailer, and the last few days have generated practically zero meaningful discussion. This is why I hope that we get some sort of trailer on Thursday if we're not getting a stream, as the conversation here lately has felt pretty dead.

The only morality in a cruel world is chance.
People complaining about the roster, and people complaining about people complaing about the roster. And now I'm complaining about people complaining about people complaining about the roster. Vicious cycle.
^^ Why is it so hard for people to just ignore the complaining and go about their business?

I don't know to be honest. People like to argue and debate. The game is what it is. I think it's great, not the best roster of all time for me, but the game looks good.

Thats why they call this thing bloodsport, kid.
This info drought is really killing the hype machine. They need a lesson in marketing. They could have paid me a coke and a snickers bar and id have sold more preorders by now. Id have goro trailers, a calendar revealing a new charcater every few days, weekly casual gameplay, Predator hype teasers. Id have already set the record for sales with a month to go and there would be zero kollectors editions left to buy.

Ok maybe thats a bit much but def they should have had a Goro trailer by now. Preorders are what they are trying to sell right now so why not advertise the product?

It's not even late March, I'm sure they'll be pumping out that promo material closer to the release date.

I will say though that I agree it's weird that no Goro trailer has been released. I guess it was suffice to just have his ass come up in every other promo material but...eh.

Boon has done a great job keeping Goro in his lair... Think about it.. We have essentially nothing from him...

Doing an in depth stream every other week is killing the hype?

It's funny that people say NRS needs marketing help when they are like the biggest selling fighting game in the world.

Delaying gratification is the point. If you leave them wanting more they will salivate at any and every morsel you give them. The fact that people are going on and on about it is proof that the marketing is and has worked in the past.
