Not surprised at all. We are talking about Ed Boon here and he knows exactly what he is doing.
You know I thought of this 2 weeks ago, but without the math.Let me get my maths on:
There have been nine character reveals since E3, which was on 9th June since it was revealed at the Sony press conference the day before E3 really started. There have been 142 days since then.
142/9 = 15.777777777777777....
Or if you count Goro as a reveal
142/10 = 14.2
BUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT four of them got revealed on one day, so you could say we've only had five or six reveals since then.
142/5 = 28.4
142/6 = 23.666666666666.....
Which is just over one character a month. ONE CHARACTER A MONTH. So they're bound to pick up the rate of reveals since there's only 5 months left...
In fact, say there's 26 characters total before DLC to be revealed. If we take the countdown from @Andromeda 's thread then there's 167 days left. But take away the nine characters revealed already and that leaves us with 17 characters.
167/17 = 9.82.......
So on average that leaves us with one character every ten days.
So either the character reveal rate is going to pick up HEAVILY pretty soon, (a) cluster(s) of characters are going to get revealed at the same time or we won't know about some of them until release.
Maybe we should be working together.Let me get my maths on:

Exactly, I don't seen how so many people would just read a thread title and skip the actual post before commenting. He's not talking about a new reveal..he's talking about the new cast..I want to see more of this new cast that is expanding the universe.
Again, i don't care about the rate. I'm surprised that of the reveals we have, none of them are new cast members, all are returning. This is NRS...they'll ramp up announcements in the closing months. It always starts dead.
Agreed the hype for to much info will more then likely be forgotten by launch. Not surprising. It makes far more sense to announce characters with more frequency closer into the game's release date, from a marketing standpoint. That's probably why they're taking their time now.
You doubt it and I don't even want it. With 3 variations a character I'm already very worried about balance and overall quality with the assumed minimum of 24 characters (which effectively makes it 72). Practically, quality is related to quantity. I don't want NRS to even attempt more than 28 characters.Well, he didn't say they will get rid of the classic chars, but saying there will be a lot of new chars (more than any previous mk) is kinda implying it; unless the roster expands to more than 40 chars, which tbh I really doubt.
28 + 4 DLC and I agree .You doubt it and I don't even want it. I suppose you could call it old fashioned. I call it textbook. Marketing is not an area of business that people like taking risks with because the yields are usually small. Maybe a company like Microsoft, with billions lying around, could afford such risks. But for most companies sticking to the tried and tested methods work best as far as marketing goes.they (NRS + Ed Boon) will hold as much as possible the reveals along this end of year, and once 2015 starts, they will promote more and faster ..... now they are trying to building the necessary hype factor and curiosity around MKX development ....
I know it's a torture to see this happening before our eyes, but this it's how the shit usually works when this kind of company try to use old fashion marketing tactics in order to guarantee high sales flow when the product come out .....
well, nrs does it because they're dicks. Nobody else in the fighting game business treats their pre-release like this and Smash's (the only other one going on right now) was like the polar opposite.I suppose you could call it old fashioned. Personally, having seen the quality of stuff revealed so far, I'm hype. For now, the mere thought that Mkx will most probably outdo Mk9 is enough to keep me going.

I wouldn't count on it. The fact that F/T and D'Vorah eventually got their variations pictures released on FB is a good sign that maybe they'll go back and do hers (and Kotal and Scorpion) too but NRS doesn't do trailers for characters in hindsight. If we're lucky, she'll get used in some one elses trailer, maybe whichever one of her parents is in or whoever is the major Special Forces enemy this time around.have they even given Cassie a reveal vid yet ?
