Pools will be posted by the Entrance and will run on a 2 hour basis. This means that you could be in the last pool if you are lucky enough. Please do not hold up the bracket. Disqualify hammer in full effect. I'm pretty sure there will be things that may delay a bracket that is out of our hands. We do ask for your patience while we try to finish brackets as we scheduled.

The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore, if you know you're attending and you do not have a stick to use, make sure you have a friend who can donate. All singles matches will enforce a 5 minute rule and if you can't find a stick within that time you will be disqualified. This is advance warning and will not be brought up again.

If you have any stick/button problems at anytime, STOP PLAYING, get up and inform the director. The stick will be fixed/changed and the match will be replayed. If you decide to whine about the sticks after the match, YOU WILL NOT GET A REPLAY MATCH.

team tournaments are so much fun. since theyre first to 1's anything can happen. SF and Marvel love them so much and always suppport, weve tried to do team tournaments at 3 different majors for injustice and it doesnt happen. I think the most successful team tournaemnt we did was at final round, and it took so much time to put together and actually do. it was 5 teams of 5, or maybe 6 teams of 5.

With how we do UMvC3 tournaments, if you win, you cannot change your team order or change their assists (variations). You stick with what you win with the order they were chosen.

With regards to the discussion about MKX testers being banned, TORYUKEN will not ban them from entering the tournament. The fairness factor definitely takes into account here because there is a slight advantage regardless if people see it or not. I'm not gonna argue, I am just gonna listen to Canadian community. They want american mk blood and we don't care whether they created, tested, designed or even had the game for a long time. We will take this as a challenge and make sure you send Americans back cying. So bring it. We will be ready to protect our north.

Player seeding will be based on upcoming tournaments leading up to TORYUKEN. Of course if there is a name that comes out, we will accommodate them too. I know brackets have been an issue in the past but there will be a few community leaders that will check before we post it.

As for stages, first is random, 2nd: loser chooses. Until we have the actual game and how it works, that's how we will decide. Same as MK9 rules about stages. Not Injustice stage rules which was so complicated.

What was complicated about Random stage every time? In a game where stages actually make a big difference (not just the animals in the background or how far the corners are) I think you need to consider how powerful the choice of stages can be. No one should be allowed to select a stage that benefits their character. Thats like being astaroth in soul calibur and being able to pick the smallest stage for an easy win just to tie up the set or keep the lead with easy ring outs. This is why SC has always done random stage starts, loser can opt to pick ANOTHER random stage or stay on the same stage with same character.

This is also how we avoid situations like this where perfect legend just threw drones at deg at CEO, it was so sad that he was able to choose the stage, sealing deg's fate the moment he lost the first match, not when he truly should have lost.

@5:20 PL gets the option to go to doomsday (a power character) AND select a stage with broken drones that ONLY power characters had access too. Even though he was hit with only 3 drones, the THREAT of drones force deg to play a very upclose game to retain control, which is where doomsday strives most.


TLDR; in a game where stages matter, players should not have the option to select stage.

I agree with this 100%. Although blockable interactables might mean less of a big deal, I am a huge advocate of double random stage picking.

Ok, but there are stages equipped with more interactables that get you out of the corner, or what if interactables are plus on block? or have armor? just because theyre blockable doesnt mean they CANT be great. Lets say youre a character that HATES getting put in the corner, you would ALWAYS pick the stage that give you the EXTRA option of using the interactable to regain some breathing room. I don't see it as fair.
