A couple of days ago on Twitter an enquiring fan asked Netherrealm Studios' Studio Head and Executive Producer for Mortal Kombat X Shaun Himmerick about the number of costumes we'd see in NRS's upcoming iteration of Mortal Kombat. As you can see in the below picture, Shaun answered Twitter user mk10news's question and in turn narrowed the exact number down to a specific range.
As we know, Injustice had a plethora of skins available for multiple but not all characters. Characters like Superman, who had 9 skins, and Batman, who had 8 skins, were given plenty of choice while characters like Killer Frost and Sinestro were left with merely their primary and Regime costumes.
MK9 introduced Klassic Skin packs for several of the more iconic fighters in MK like Scorpion, Sub Zero, Kitana, and Mileena, and compatibility packs also brought more free skins for pairs of fighters: Sektor and Cyrax, Noob and Smoke, Kitana and Jade, and even Sub Zero and Cyber Sub Zero! Unfortunately not all characters saw more costumes though.
What do you think will happen this time around? Will all the characters get their chance to be shrouded in drapery or will some characters again be left to tend to their secondary colours for a differing mien? We've seen that Scorpion will receive a Cold War-inspired look thanks to Coarse and we've seen Reptile's alternate costume so far, but a while back we got to see a bob-haired alternate costume for Cassie and we may possibly have been shown concept art for a D'Vorah alternate in the 'Next' trailer.
Will the classics collect the costumes once more or will they provide the newcomers with some inspired frocks this time around?
