RM HoneyBee wins Final Impact 3!

“I’m Faster than Light!”

This month, Toronto’s top players met at Final Impact 3 to determine who would come out on top at our last tournament of the year. Ten challengers entered the ring, but only one would prevail. With the school semester coming to a close, RM HoneyBee was able to finally make it out to another local, but would he be able to overtake his brother RM Biohazard or in this case RM Bio-Horror, the winner of the previous two Northern Battles?

Let’s get started! We begin the tournament with Vexx. Roberto’s Grundy going up against RM MCSquared’s Batgirl. This is MCSquared first tournament for Injustice and with only one week of playing Batgirl, Roberto’s experience holds out as he takes the set 3-0.

Ryan Aloysius’ Scorpion steps up next to face STH Nam, Nam’s combination of Flash/Grundy isn’t enough to take out the Heroes World Hopeful and Aloysius teleports his way into the next round with a score of 3-0.

VSM Winterwarz chooses a new name to reflect his current state of gaming and decides to go by I’d Rather Play CS:GO. After a long break he returns with his Batman and is set to go 1 on 1 with newcomer Jayslap. One of the most dangerous things in a scene is a new player. The question is would Winterwarz ring rust come into play in his first match? The answer is no and he advances 3-0.

Domchalant also returns but this time without his brother Gunshow. Coming off of his win against STH Nam, Aloysius is determined to beat Dom but ultimately falls to his Wonder Woman 3-0 and is sent to the loser’s bracket.

For the first match on stream we see RM Doctor Stabs going up against RM Biohazard aka Bio-Horror :p @RM Indecisive Dr.Stabs starts off with his joker against Bio’s new Nightwing but loses two close matches. With a snipe in mind, Dr. Stabs switch’s to Sinestro and after losing two matches, Bio is the one that has to resort to a counter pick. Going with Bane, Bio is able to close out the set 3-2 and throws up a fistful of venom.

RM HoneyBee, back from his hiatus, is ready for his match with the Walking Corpse, Solomon Grundy. The Flash’s speed proves to be too much for the behemoth and Roberto walks into losers bracket, Grundy sad...

RM Bio-Horror’s Bane is ready to break some backs in the next set with Domchalant’s Wonder woman. When the dust clears, Wonder Woman’s back has turned to mush and the Venom addicted monster is headed into winner’s finals with a score of 3-0.

RM HoneyBee is ready for the Toronto classic winner’s finals match against RM Bio-Horror but first he must get past a certain Counter Strike prodigy. With CS:GO awaiting Bee’s flash, he knows it’ll be an uphill battle in one of Batman’s bad MU’s. Instead HoneyBee has a surprise for CS:GO and chooses Aquaman! With an even worse MU for the bat, Bee sends CS:GO to a watery grave and moves on 3-0.

With top 3 being moved on to later in the afternoon we join the loser’s bracket.

Doctor Stabs hits MCSquared with Joker’s laughing gas and sends him home, 3-0.

STH Nam command grabs his way to victory in a close set against Jayslap, 3-2.

Doctor Stabs laughs at the Heroes World Hopeful’s chances and Aloysius is sent packing, 3-0.

Grundy mirrors ensue and when all is said and done, the veteran emerges victorious. Roberto defeats Nam 3-0.

With half the field of competitors cleared, Doctor Stabs is set to fight the FPS King, CS:GO. The Joker vs Batman, the storm has been brewing for a while. In a close first match, the clown prince of crime takes it, but the Dark Night retaliates and suddenly Joker is on the ropes. With a clutch decision, Dr. Stabs picks Sinestro and snipes :) CS:GO proving who the true master of fear is, 3-2 Stabs.

Next up is the Amazon, Princess Diana vs the Zombie, Cyrus Gold. With lasso in tow, Wonder Woman whips Solomon Grundy into submission and puts an end to Roberto’s chances of winning Final Impact 3. Domchalant moves on 3-0.

Ditching his main, Doctor Stabs decides to go full Sinestro against Domchalant. With money on the line courtesy of a side bet between HoneyBee and CS:GO. Domchalant wins the set 3-1 and CS:GO pockets $5.

Back on stream, three warriors are hungry for victory. We join HoneyBee and Bio-Horror in winner’s finals. With HoneyBee usually getting the upper hand against Bio’s Bane and Harley Quinn, Bio decides to try a new character. Inspired by the success of Sonic Fox, Bio-Horror debuts his Batgirl. Bio seems to fare better with his choice in Batgirl as the score stands at 2-2. Bee is in trouble, but a switch to Aquaman seals the deal and HoneyBee sends his brother to loser’s finals, 3-2.

The rematch is at hand with Bio-Horror facing Domchalant for the second time. Will Dom have an ace up his sleeve this time? After losing to Bio in the first match, Dom switches out Wonder Woman for Zatanna. The last time Bio and Dom fought with these two characters was at Canadian East Coast Championships, over a full year ago. However Dom was out of practice with his Zatanna and after two quick matches is out of the tournament, 3-0. MORE VENOM!!!

With Grand Finals set, we have brother vs brother, a staple of Toronto’s local. Bio-Horror is off to a good start with Batgirl. Up 2-0 against Bee’s Flash, Bio misses a game winning super and everything falls apart. HoneyBee, refusing to switch to Aquaman again, sticks with The Flash and wins three straight games. Unable to reset the bracket against the speedster, HoneyBee stands alone in a field of broken bones and crushed bodies. Raising the RM banner high, HoneyBee triumphs and leaves his Final Impact on the Toronto scene.

Results:

1st place: RM HoneyBee (Flash, Aquaman)
2nd place: RM Bio-Horror (Bane, Batgirl, Nightwing)
3rd place: Domchalant (Wonder Woman, Zatanna)
4th place: RM Doctor Stabs (Joker, Sinestro)

Nice one guys. Together, you're as powerful as one full Asian. That's why when you two are together, you place better. Also, top tier name: "I'd rather play cs:go"
