East Coast Throwdown 4 was easily the most fun we've ever had at a tournament. The energy in that room was simply electrifying throughout the entire weekend. From the intense exhibitions between OMG itz Andre vs Unk0wn and RayRay vs Fanatiq to the nail-biting finals between Justin Wong and RayRay. And that was just Marvel!

ECT4 also marked the first tournament with international presence from Asia. AverMedia's GamerBee was in attendance last year and proved to be quite the threat in every game he entered. It was truly an honor to be able to host a legendary player such as Bruce and we'd be happy to welcome anyone from around the world to our event.

Joe and I were really pleased with the way ECT4 was run. We finally have systems in place to make sure everything runs as efficiently as possible with minimal delay. Our pre-registration system worked flawlessly and about 90% of you guys saved yourselves some dough and registered early. This allowed us to start on time and finish early. We received awesome feedback from the community and we're more than pleased to be bringing ECTV to you guys. We hope everyone who came last year will come back again for more spine-tingling excitement. The stuff we currently have in the planning stages has, and I quote from Joe himself, "the energy to bring back Jesus". So ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, we're ecstatic to present East Coast Throwdown V!

We will be using the same ultra-efficient pool system we used at ECT4. By ensuring that around 16 or 32 (depending on the game) people are in each bracket, pools can run very fast and very efficiently. I will be doing brackets by hand again this year in order to better guarantee that people don't have to play 2 games at once. Since we're using smaller brackets, there will be more pools available to place players in, making sure you guys don't have to be in 2 places at once. Just report to your pool, stick around for 2-3 hours depending on how you play, and you're done! If you do have to play more than one game at a time, it is YOUR responsibility to tell your pool handler that you're in another game. If you go missing for 20 minutes because you were playing in another tournament, you might get DQ'd because the handler doesn't know where you are.

If you guys have any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to voice them here or shoot me a PM! Let's get hype!!!

Obviously, if Injustice has a tournament following, that will be added to the list. For now though, we'll have to wait and see how it fares!

Guys, the MK kommunity has always meant a lot to us. We're going to try our best to get as many sponsors as possible for this year, so stay tuned for updates. If you have any questions/comments/concerns/suggestions, LET US KNOW!

Cannot wait! I missed ECT4 due to volunteering at the NJ Special Olympics, but it doesn't conflict this time!

So I must crack the question for everyone on this one....

What's going on with the streaming situation? (because of the internet issues at ECT4)

I know you previously stated in regards to this but just so it's in here for everyone else.

The MK guys will likely be armed with 4G cards...

We've contracted for at LEAST 5MB up. The hotel is weird and has a shared connection, so it's 5up and 5down. Here's how I'll lay it out so it's in plain English.

There is a priority for streams. Spooky obviously has priority 1 since he's running the main stage. If, for whatever reason, the other streams are slowing him down or causing his quality to dip, then those streams get cut. It sucks, yes, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. We were originally going to have MK on a 4G stream, but no one's 4G cards got service in the hotel. That could've changed in the past 4 months though, which I actually think it might have.

We haven't organized every streamer yet, but here's how the order would go if we stuck with the same formula as last year (which we'll probably wind up doing)

1) Sp00ky
2) Secondary Capcom Stream
3) 8WayRun
4) MK
5) Anime

With 5 MB connection (minimum), then we should easily be able to accommodate everyone until finals on Sunday. We might have to temporarily cut some streams for the exhibitions we're planning for Saturday (read: Jesus-resurrecting-hype-levels), but hopefully it won't come to that.

SweetJohnnyCage I figured I'd ask so everyone who was wondering could see it. I understand who has what priority, it makes complete sense even if some people don't understand. With that said, I've been there the past two years and have been nothing but completely impressed with everything that's in yours and Joe's control. I plan on making this 100%. Keep up the good work guys.

Thank you sir! All feedback is appreciated.

I'm considering going to this as a warm up for UFGT (no disrespect to ECT when I say that).

I also really wanna check out this east coast scene and it's players

Hotel room reservations can be made, book now! I put the link in the first post.

Also guys, Winter Brawl 7 marks the start of the East Coast TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 Circuit, so be sure to head there for your shot at a free flight to Final Round XVI!

Well, i will try to be there. This time not for my job, special for UMK 3. If umk3 will run under mame, can i use my keyboard? And the second question - is this pretty big umk 3 tournament to visit it from Russia? Or better to wait some another umk3 tournament?

REMINDER: Pre-registration ends May 4 and the emergency registration fee jumps to $45 at the door! Save $15 and help us out by pre-registering today! Hotel rooms will also be selling out very soon. More rooms are being added today but are sure to sell out quickly!

I clicked on ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION - but there is no Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in game list.

1)Whether there will be a UMK3 tournament? I'm going to book hotel and to buy the plane ticket. And i'm from Russia - it is 9 hour flight, and it costs expensive. It would be offensive to arrive and learn that tournament won't take place =).

2)And all rooms are already sold out right? Can anybody please tell me closest hotel to the tournament?

3)And which airport closest to the hotel?

4)And can i use my own keyboard to play UMK3?

Thank you!

Coming from Russia? God damn dude! We're honored!

UMK3 is always a side tournament and is sometimes free. I don't put it on there just so I don't have to give people refunds if we wind up making it free, you know? I'll triple check with Shock to find out which day they're going to run UMK3 on, but I can pretty much guarantee it will be on Sunday since MK9 and Injustice will basically be done down to Top 4 on Saturday.

Hotel rooms are sold out for now, but there is another set of rooms that are supposed to open up this afternoon. I will post as soon as they are available. I'll also put up links to book at nearby hotels in case the Hyatt is fully sold out (which is always does by the time the tournament happens).

Newark (Airport Code EWR) is the closest, but you can also fly into JFK in New York and take a few trains to Morristown. A cab from EWR would probably run you about $60, whereas the train from JFK is under $20. If you feel comfortable navigating the New York transit system, go for it. To play it safe, fly to EWR and take a cab.

I'll double check with Shock on using your own keyboard.

thank you! many things are clear now - EWR and cab is best way i think. If empty rooms will appears - it will be great. If everything will confirmed - it is 100% i'll be at ECT5. I was in NY 2 years ago, we was talking with Phil (9.95) by the phone, but my work didn't allow me to meet him and to participate in tournament those days. Now my travel is only for UMK3 =)
