Just when you begin to think that this weekend cannot get more exciting than it already has, two teams from the Killer Instinct community come forward to prove you wrong! Set to occur either Friday or Saturday, Ruthless Mayhem's warriors will face a crew known as Team Impulse, whose members have already established a noticeable presence in the FGC ever since their sojourn to @RapZiLLa54's Birthright tournament last month. While this is technically RM's first war in Killer Instinct, they are no stranger to pooling their efforts together so as to ensure the downfall of their enemies. In this post, you'll be treated to an inside look at both teams as a preview to some competitive hype!
From the first corner steps the crew who'd summoned the courage to challenge RM. They are...
Team Impulse
First Combatant - TI Jago
Character - Jago
Player Log - Leader and founder of Team Impulse, TI Jago has quickly gathered together a crew capable of injecting terror into all that would oppose them. As his name suggests, he is a Jago specialist, and he is not a foe to be taken lightly.
Second Combatant - TI Phycotica
Character - Sadira
Player Log - Although @CD jr was quick to disconnect the strands of webbing that bound New York within darkness, remnants of Sadira's guild of assassins remain to strike at unsuspecting opponents. Among these remnants stands TI Phycotica, a player who plays exactly as an assassin would do...bide his time until he spots an opening in his opponent's offense.
Third Combatant - TI Jaysilk
Character - Fulgore
Player Log - Coming off his second-place finish at Birthright, TI Jaysilk and his cybernetic slayer are hell-bent on exterminating their enemies. No match featuring Jaysilk leaves anybody feeling disappointed, whether they fought him or watched him in action. His next target acquired...Ruthless Mayhem!
Fourth Combatant - TI Mrgamer511
Character - Orchid
Player Log - With TI's next battle on the horizon, Mrgamer511 sets aside his grudge with UltraTech to prepare for another formidable adversary. Combining his solid spacing game with an array of mix-up options, his opponents will be forced to guess for the sake of maintaining their chances at victory. Will he come a step closer to flushing out RM?!
Fifth Combatant - TI Hernandez
Character - Sadira
Player Log - Another Sadira player among the ranks of Team Impulse, TI Hernandez finished in third place at the Birthright event last month, losing to his teammate Jaysilk in Loser's Finals, an outcome he harbors no regrets over. Like with his fellow assassin Phycotica, nobody can feel assured of safety for as long as he watches from the confines of the Assassin's Cave. New York will become a spider's playground once again...and eventually, the rest of the FGC will be encased in webbing that will never be penetrated.
Sixth Combatant - TI GFromTheStreets
Character - Spinal/Sabrewulf
Player Log - This warrior has a fondness for horror flicks, it would seem, because his due of Spinal and Sabrewulf have left the majority of their opponents screaming for relief from the terrors that plagued them.
Now, we turn our attention to TI's opponents. While more than six will be listed from their side...in the interests of keeping the numbers equal, two of them will be required to watch from the sidelines. This preview is simply to provide you with possibilities for the team battle!
Ruthless Mayhem
First Combatant - RM GamerBlake
Character - Jago
Player Log - While not exactly the founder of RM (this feat is attributed to @RM xSTRANGERx who initially gave life to the clan over three years ago), RM GamerBlake proved monumental in its resurrection back in mid-2013. He now shares Stranger's role in the leadership. Originally a regular from the NRS community, Blake and his allies developed RM into an empire that would span across numerous factions of the FGC, including the Killer Instinct community. Like with TI's founder, he serves as a disciple of the Tiger Spirit...playing Jago.
(and yes, I typed in third-person perspective. Deal with it)
Second Combatant - SteamCo RM CD Jr
Character - Kan-Ra
Player Log - The reigning Killer Instinct champion from Evolution 2014, CD Jr's streak of victory has yet to see its end since he fulfilled his dream goal, yet he refuses to relinquish the throne to another. Although he was once a Sadira specialist, he left her guild upon the beginning of Season 2, and is now pouring time into each new character added to the game by Iron Galaxy. As of now, he's laying out the blueprint on how to play Kan-Ra.
Third Combatant - RM MorbidHoagie
Character - Spinal
Player Log - He may be a player whose skill in comedy is matched by his character, but MorbidHoagie is no laughing matter. This man always leaves you in a state of cursing...whether you're swearing or the skulls are depriving you of your meter. You'd best take the time to study his set-ups, or his laugh of victory will chill your bones (literally!).
Fourth Combatant - RM KPB Crusher
Character - Sabrewulf
Player Log - His gameplay style fits his name perfectly, as he crushes his opponent's morale with mix-ups from all directions. Those who play passively will find themselves trying hard to control Crusher's aggression. If you wish to defeat him, you have to place yourself at risk when doing so...because as soon as he accrues a full bar of Instinct Meter, the game really begins!
Fifth Combatant - RM Mcsquared2
Character - Sadira/Maya
Player Log - Hailing all the way from Ontario, Canada, RM Mcsquared2 is quite the ladies' man due to his mastery of the female fighters. Like CD Jr, his interest has gone towards experimenting with the Season 2 characters. Unless you're careful, you'll find Sadira's knives or Maya's daggers inches from your neck.
Sixth Combatant - RM Jkun Prime
Character - TJ Combo/Fulgore
Player Log - a recent addition to the RM family, Jkun Prime alternates between various roles. He illuminates the world with Green Lantern's light, plants his opponents face-first into the ground with TJ Combo, and carries out deadly objectives on behalf of UltraTech as a Fulgore player. While he's no computer, Jkun Prime's ability to download the opposition is exceptional.
Seventh Combatant - RM PTH Mr Aquaman
Character - Thunder
Player Log - The founder of Pallet Town Heroes, he now serves alongside Blake and Stranger as a co-leader for Ruthless Mayhem. The Injustice community recognizes him as the God of War, but now it is the crash of Thunder that signals his arrival. Very few can excel in the art of ambiguity as much as Mr Aquaman does. Only a fool would challenge him at his own game!
Eighth Combatant - RM KPB Grief
Character - Sadira
Player Log - while he commands a multitude of killers, none are more lethal than his Sadira. You do not want to get on the bad side of this guy, because he knows how to make you fight for your life. His strategy is best described as based on momentum, so if you can't stop him from gaining it, you will find yourself having a hard time.
Which crew will come out on top at NEC 15?!
At this time, we cannot guarantee that a stream will be provided, but talks will be had with the tournament staff in the hopes that we can broadcast the team battle. If that cannot be achieved, we will do our best to record the matches, as incomplete as the quality will be. One thing is for certain...we from RM 2014 look forward to testing our combat prowess against Team Impulse.
