Ethernet Cables. Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a whats the difference?

Hey guys im in the market for a longer ethernet cable and i see all these different kinds of Cat cables. Whats the difference? Which is the best for playing online?

Honestly, the higher the category, the faster the speeds and protection. For online gaming, none of these will make a huge difference unless you're rocking IPv6.

You can get a CAT5e cable up to at least 100m (~300ft) and it won't lose any speed.

and there is cat6's that are good for placeing under the carpet.... cat5e is suffecient enough... 50ft cable should reach from upstairs to downstairs... drill some holes and your good to go
