Cr.SonicFox Wins Mortal Kombat X @ East Coast Throwdown 2015

Tonight would not be complete without the conclusion of the Mortal Kombat X finals at East Coast Throwdown 2015 in Morristown, New Jersey. With top 8 monsters including SonicFox, REO, Saltface, the Terry Brothers (MIT & DJT), Slayer, Forever King and Jupiter - let's just say we had a very entertaining and hype top 8 both character-wise and player-wise.

Who was ready?

Results:

• YOMI|DJT (Kung Lao/Tempest) vs YOMI|Saltface (Mileena/Ravenous) 3-0

Match Descrip: DJT shows dominance through set. After two wins, Saltface took brief moment to rethink things and despite his losses, he chose Ravenous Mileena. DJT would win the set 3-0

• cR. Sonic Fox (Erron Black/Outlaw) vs YOMI|REO (Erron Black/Outlaw) 3-1

Match Descrip: Although we saw a glimpse of the "old" REO after being down 2-0 to SonicFox, both players chose Outlaw Erron Black. REO would show his notorious pressure he dominated with in MK9. However, SonicFox would retake the match momentum to take the set.

• YOMI|FOREVER KING (Kung Lao/Tempest, Kung Jin/Bojutsu) vs EMPR Jupiter (Jax/Wrestler) 2-3

Match Descrip: The most even, the most clutch and the very first upset of the Top 8. EMPR Jupiter's Wrestler Jax would take KING's Kung Lao & Kung Jin all the way to the last round of the last match. It would be a meter-burn grab that would ultimately win the set for Jupiter.

• YOMI|MIT (Scorpion/Hellfire, Tanya/Kobu Jutsu) vs YOMI|Slayer (Kung Jin/Bojutsu, Kung Lao/Tempest) 3-1

Winners Finals-Match Descrip: After being down one match MIT is the first to represent the DLC character, Tanya. Despite Slayer's character change to Tempest Kung Lao Slayer would fail to adapt to MIT's playstyle with Tanya as well as reading Tanya's teleports.

• YOMI|DJT (Kung Lao/Tempest) vs cR. SonicFox (Erron Black/Outlaw) 0-3

Match Descrip: DJT, whose's Kung Lao offers significant pressure would fail to adjust to SonicFox's Erron Black. Sonic's Erron Black would dominate the set 3-0.

• YOMI|Saltface (Mileena/Ravenous) vs EMPR Jupiter (Jax/Wrestler) 3-0

Match Descrip: Saltface would redeem is earlier loss to DJT's Kung Lao and strike back against Jupiter's Jax 3-0. Jax would not be able to jump without getting punished by Mileena.

• YOMI|MIT (Tanya/Kobu Jutsu) vs YOMI|REO (Erron Black/Outlaw) 3-1

Losers Semi Finals-Match Descrip: MIT's Tanya would simply be too much for REO's Erron Black. From teleports to pressure, MIT would not let up - taking the set 3-1.

• YOMI|Saltface (Mileena/Ravenous) vs YOMI|MIT (Tanya/Kobu Jutsu) 2-3

Losers Finals-Match Descrip: A great overall match with Saltface to start to run it back against MIt's Tanya. However, MIT would finish things out 3-2 after punishing Saltface's last armored combo attempt.

• YOMI|DJT (Kung Lao/Tempest) vs YOMI|MIT (Tanya/Kobu Jutsu) 3-0

YOMI|DJT (Kung Lao/Tempest) vs cR SonicFox (Erron Black/Outlaw)

GRAND FINALS-Match Descrip: DJT tries Tempest Lao one more time before switching to Sub-Zero. Sonic Fox struggles at first, but eventually overcomes the matchup to take the tournament in winners 3-0.
