Character Smoke seen in Kotal Kahn 'Sun God' variation, is it him?

Here is something to bring to your attention... is Smoke in the game? In this IGN video when Kotal Kahn is selected, take a real good look at his character variation when they highlight his Sun God class. It's at the 4:12 mark when they highlight Kotal Kahn Sun God class that is clearly a male with a scarf and ninja pants on plus Smoke coming out of him when Kotal Kahn slams him to the ground.

In addition to this, TYM user @Zmoke has sent us some pretty convincing evidence that this may actually be Smoke...

Here is a "better" look:

#1 Your opponent doesn't leave a trail of smoke normally when he/she is thrown, as seen in E3 gameplay.
#2 The unknown figure leaves two gray trails of smoke that don't disappear even when he's on the ground.
#3 Sub-Zero didn't emit anything from his forearms in the normal stance, so it can't be him either.
#4 In Ferra/Torr's "Vicious" variation there is a blue (not gray) figure, supposedly Cassie Cage.
#5 Last but not least, as to why this is more than a mere template: Ed Boon stated that the character select screen would include a lot of hints about other combatants. Barack Obama's silhouette obviously referred to Baraka.

Human Smoke has a large fanbase and it would be a shame not to see him back.

Is it Smoke? What are your thoughts on this?

Actually playing it back, I think the smoke might be the dust effects from that character being slammed to the ground.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. Also I notice the smoke like effects also happen while he's in the air as well.

It might just be a stock character for the variation selection. Because if you look at Ferra/Torr's 2nd variation it is the same one. But who knows, maybe they just really hate Smoke

That definitely looks like smoke. If you look at the image before it's selected (4:05 mark), you can really see the details. He has long hair, and the same shin guards and color scheme as smoke.
