I never said he's an irrelevant name drop. I said that name drops won't change my opinion.

Him saying that he plays with Pnut, or him posting a video of Pnut not punishing something, is not going to change my look on thing. You're completely changing my point and making it sound like I called Pnut irrelevant.

I'd wager that Pnut probably agrees with me.

Btw, Sonic punished hella swords with his command grab in their matches. If you deny that then you're flat out lying.

I don't believe you are downplaying. I think you're just saying as you see it, but I also believe that Alien is clearly OP - and that its very clear to anyone who hasn't grown as a player with, and because of, the character's overall OP-ness. I don't want Alien banned. I also don't want a repeat of the Tanya vs Tanya-ness that was CEO - with Alien vs Alien at the biggest event of the year.

So, I want a mild hotfix.

If you were to ask Sonic Fox and he were to give you an honest answer, he would tell you that the meta between Alien and EB doesn't end with a simple sword punish. He would tell you that there's a next step. Knowing Fox, he probably knows a few steps beyond that.

...but you can't believe that EB owns an advantage over Alien. Its Sonic Fox that owns an advantage over, well, seemingly - everyone.

I'd probably agree that Alien is "OP", but only if 6-7 other characters are also considered OP as well. I'd probably put him at 3rd or 4th, behind Piercing, A List, and perhaps Cutthroat. I also don't think that he's too far ahead of a few other characters.

Also, people need to stop saying that Alien is a she. Alien is whatever you want Alien to be.

I didn't call her perfect i don't think anyone did lol. Ofc she isn't perfect no character is. She doesn't need to be banned either idk where u got that i wanted her to be from. I said the top tier statement because you keep constantly saying Alien is top 5, but at the same time list everything BAD about her instead of the strengths being justified as well. Either way, i don't even know what u are arguing anymore at this point cus almost everyone universally agrees that she shouldn't be banned but for some reason you keep defending her with crazy statements like" b3 and f4 can't be used in the nuetral" which is asinine . just chiiillll man she'll be fine

While also mentioning full combo punishes. Didn't realize a 13% command grab was being "punished hard." So you use intentionally ambiguous terms so that you can substitute a meaning when needed. First it's full combo punishes then it's a command grab. Speaking of which, who are these relevant characters because that seems like an ambiguous term to conveniently omit any character you want? Let's see these videos of people punishing your b3 and f4 on Alien. Lets see these videos of people full combo punishing your swords on Kotal. If you're gonna make these bold claims then burden of proof lies on you, friend.

I can't wait for the excuses for why you can't post any videos.

Nobody ever said she was perfect so that's why i was saying idk wat made u feel the need to explain yourself on why she wasnt in the first place. I feel like you are starting to troll at this point so im out lol..

I hate to bring up the "K" word, but in mk9 Kabal was more dominant on all parts of the screen than it seems alien is in MKX but Kabal was never banned in competitive play. In fact most people consider Reo to be the greatest mk9 player of all time and 90% of his tournament success was with Kabal, a character who by Reo's own admission had no bad matchups and iirc may have not even had anything worse than 6-4 in his favor.

Alien is stupid good and may be #1 as things stand now (maybe) but he is no where near the level of Kabal in mk9 in terms of how he dominates the cast and people were fine with kabal regulating tournaments, even mlg with large payouts.

How can this same community want to ban a less overpowered character only a few years later?

Guys ban request isnt due to alien being overpowered....... Why no one has read the op? They want ban because alien has game breaking hitbox bugs and a no recovery glitch

Because Alien is bugged. Kabal was OP because of the tools he had. Not because he was glitched. There's a difference between having ridiculous tools and having bugs.. Alien can crouch block overheads. No one should be able to do that. End of story. He should be banned until he has to block the correct direction like every other player and character does in every single fighting game that's ever existed ever.

I mean, asking for nerfs and suggesting balance changes is one thing, but when a character is bugged to the point where he has this evasive blocking garbage and can ignore overheads... That's different. Characters have specific move properties that make them situationally viable. Alien can invalidate those move properties in way too many cases because he's busted and they flat out don't apply to him. The character is too bugged to be allowed.

Are people even able to utilize the "evasive blocking" in real matches though? I was watching dragon play in PLs tournament yesterday trying to win 500 bucks and I didn't see him being able to variable block anything. Is this tech really viable to use in a real match? I don't play alien so I have never tried to execute it myself, I have only seen the information people have posted about it that actually use the character. Is it really broken to the point of a ban? I am asking seriously because I have seen no actual competitive play evidence of it.

I'm not sure either tbh. ignoring overheads certainly seems pretty busted though.
