Perfect Legend Wants to Cement His Spot in Fighting Game History

I didn't get a chance to read it yet, but as great players come and go, through their struggles, through their prime when they dominate, to their inevitable downfall, it would be nice if there was some sort of FGC Hall of Fame made or some sort of commemorative thing to remember how things were.

If feels like the FGC is in the equivalent of the 1800's Major League Baseball where there was little documented because the sport was so young.

As an old-timer myself who just doesn't have the time or resources I once did to be great, I take comfort in the fact I helped get the ball moving.

But I do wonder if anyone will remember too. Especially now that esports is becoming more and more real.

People will put 13-0 and laugh but this dude has already been to where some of us strive to be, well at least me, an EVO champion. Posting 13-0 to whore out some likes, yeah, we get it. Young Sonic would do that to 99% of the community. PL would run down on 99% of the guys who post '13-0' to look cool. Your opinions of a player are your own but PL deserves a little bit more than people just posting '13-0' ... he's a better player than most of us.

Nice read btw.

Not that I care but pl doesn't get flack for being a bad player. He gets thrown under the bus for being a bad person.

Carl has been part of a ton of FGC history as is. Being a 3-time EVO champion of 2 different games, tons of tournament winnings, being a prominent figure of some of the early eSports stuff in DOA, large fanbase, etc. If there was a Hall Of Fame, for sure, he'd be in it.

To be honest, he's already cemented his status.

I had purchased a domain that would've been exclusive to showcasing such players in their respective games... but it just never went anywhere.

However, how about we plan to just do something like this on the forums... I think that would be great. It could be a forum where every player would have their own respective (locked ) thread that would have the recorded information.

thats the thing about public figures. You only know what they put out. And Carl's public image is his own creation, and yes it makes him look bad.
A "bad person"? Really? What has he done to you specifically? I know "bad people", that dude is not a bad person.

I guess our perceptions are completely different. I personally will smack and pop off on anyone who started "internet beef"-- regardless of real life resources and affiliation. Point being...there are people who will always talk sh^t and it can drive people to act out at times, like he has. That does not make them a "bad person" or deserving of cyber bullying.

Anyhow, I will never say anything negative about PL or Reo as, they are the ones that singlehandedly got me into fighting games.

he's certainly on the villain side of the FGC community scale. Obviously I don't mean bad person like he's evil, but on the entertainer scale He's like a leffen/Filipino champ/insert wrestling villain.
