For god sake I cant stand this thread anymore !
I come here to read something productive, if someone posts articles or new news. And instead i'm reading bunch of childish war comments in which i'm not interested at least since 2006. And to be frankly, no one should be interested.
I am not interested in console peasants vs master race that has been going on since at least page 30.
With an attitude like that no wonder big companies bend gamers over. Truly we are most pathetic bunch out there. I am watching what is happening in gaming world and im now completely sure of this. Not gamers are just the most pathetic, but most spineless as well.
WB already won. They didn't need to do anything except keep their mouth shut.
This community couldn't stand together and it feasted on itself, thus we lost.
Im truly thankful for many high profile people who supported us along the way. You are the only hope for brighter future of this rotting community.
But at this point it is time to move on.
ps. I just stick to read Ermac's buffs i've been waiting for since 2011.

The problem with that is they've done kombat packs in pretty much this exact fashion for now the third game in a row now. They knew they were gonna do it again. This stuff takes months to develop. Adding new characters is a way bigger job than most people give credit for.
Actually, this is the first game they've released a second Kombat Pack for. At this time in Mortal Kombat (2011)'s life cycle, the final character was released half a year ago and the game's balance support was done.

Nah. KP2 was planned from the very beginning. They already had planed 8 DLC characters when they initially released the game last year. We've already confirmed that on our end. WB & NRS played it smart. They held off on any mention that KP2 was console exclusive till after christmas holiday's But they announce KP2 3 months prior, through teasing it on twitter (Via potential characters and a new stage). It's a smart move, that drove Hype for the game & upcoming DLC's. Which in turn increased sales across all 3 platforms. They got their money, then made a half-assed announcement by omitting steam logo from 1st Trailer. Which caused speculation, but no certainty either way. Again more hype for the game no matter how u look @ it because it causes discussion amongst the community.
That's possible. I know The Pit was known since the summer, as it was found, ironically, in the PC versions files.

What's also possible is they had a loose plan that, if the game was successful, they'd do more content, but if not, they'd stick to the one add-on. The game is the best selling Mortal Kombat in history, so they went ahead with the commission for more content.

There won't be any news. WB is done with the platform.
You're saying "WB won" as if it was some fight against mean dragon who hogs on a treasure people want. WB is no dragon and treasure doesn't exist. No amount of attacks and shaming will do anything. What can? Well, apparently about $10 mil wasn't enough to convince them. Can you offer something better? I doubt it.

Can as well went frustration on each other because it doesn't matter who to shout at. At least we can get a response from each other :p

By the way I want to include some numbers and listen what do you think about how weird is this situation.

Mortal Kombat X
Total sales as of October 2015 : more than 5 000 000 copies
PC sales as of January 2016 : more than 500 000 copies
Developer : NetherRealm Studios , High Voltage Software
Publisher : Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
PC price on steam : 54, 99 euros

Batman Arkham Knight
Total sales as of October 2015 : more than 5 000 000 copies
PC sales as of August 2015 : about 450 000 copies
Developer : Rocksteady Studios
Publisher : Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
PC price on steam : 39,99 euros

Keep also in mind that batman has 49% of positive reviews while mkx has 57%. We talk about the same publisher company on both cases, so can you give me a good reason why the same company says pull the plug in the first case while in the second delivers new content during the month of January(PC update- January 19th)? In addition in the second case a refund option was given to the buyers, something that must have cost a great deal of money in the company. So if they care just for money, how the same publisher makes 2 different decisions on two cases that are almost identical?
Keep in mind that AK debacle happened much earlier. Half a year ago WB thought it was worth salvaging, but things may have changed since then. Maybe there's some new project they work on right now and they decided their money are now better spent elsewhere. Maybe after repeated failures they decided that PC release of their next game won't pay off and decided to cut the losses now. Who knows.

EA were pulling plugs on their products for a given platform en masse? ME3 was done with paid DLCs when the core game was released and there was an official announcement from devs that releases were being put on hold despite possibility of missing income?

EA was actually going to sell additional content for ME3 and to sell further games on all platforms. They had to please community they intended to keep in order not to hurt future sales. They needed to win crowd back and they acted like it.

On the other hand, WB has clearly shown that they are cutting any financing of PC development of all their games while employing marketing equivalent of slash-and-burn approach during Christmas period, clearly sacrificing any good reputation they had left for quick buck.

If that doesn't scream "we don't care anymore and we need better reason than half a million sales", I don't know what does.

I know that the conversation for false advertisement is already open. After all, the game has the same title on PS4 covers, Xbox1 covers and PC covers implying that this is a multiplatform game and it was introduced as one. If on March 2nd, all PS4 and Xbox1 editions have a new netcode and new balance patches, doesn't that make them a different version of the game? Can someone using clues like these and maybe the interviews of executives from the company about the pc version, to pose a threat to the company from a legal perspective if the insist in this decision with another public statement?

Even if I am not sure if it's possible or not, there has to be created a new level of consumer's protection on cases like this one. So when a company goes out and present a game on E3 for example as multiplatform title, there have to be some strict rules. Otherwise if the company doesn't want to follow them should be obliged to publish the game under a different title and inform the potential buyers about the differences those editions have/may have in the future.

No because if you read the EULA, the software is provided as is.

Yes for sure I didn't refer to a lawsuit, I have already found those lines that seem pretty clear :

"... WB Games may change, modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time. WB Games may also impose limits on certain features or restrict your access to parts or all of the Game without notice or liability. You have no interest, monetary or otherwise, in any feature or content contained in the Game..."

I don't have the time to read also the false advertisement conditions, to answer for that too.

However I believe that we as customers need for sure more legal protection in cases like this one.

Just read the first bit, and it clearly states that mobile revenue is up huge, and most hardcore gamers are going back to consoles.
That is not really surprising, since new gen. of consoles has not grow old yet and is still on pair with mid-level PCs. Though as you can see from this: http://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-divisions-developer-we-do-have-to-keep-it-in-check-with-the-consoles-unfair-to-push-it-far-away-from-them/ games for PC are already being downgraded a bit (this time at least honestly admitted), so that PC version does not completely outshine console one. More honest info from devs like this, more AAA "games", or should I say - demos like Order 1886, more practices like Xbox paying sht load of money to have tomb raider as timed exclusive (which did not help Xbox) and mby some people will wise up.

But somebody ask about PC revenue, and as you can see from numbers only, it tops.

Right, but keep in mind using PC revenue in this instance is a bit misleading, as it's being used to show that the PC would be a big revenue maker for WBIE. While that may be so, fighting games is not anywhere near as bit on PC as it is on consoles. Doesn't mean they can't do well though, but they are not tops.

There is a reason why Capcom and Microsoft decided to port their fighters to PC. There are many other popular fighters on PC as well (Skull girls, blaze blue, DoA, lost touch with Tekken long time ago, but I read that Namco might bringTekken 7 to PC too etc). I mean, fighters on PC may not sell in great numbers IMMEDIATELY, but they do sell in large numbers over time. Existence of services like GOG should tell devs and publishers that PC gamers tend to re-buy even old, old games, and all games are getting old given enough time.

Right, but it's similar to releasing an RTS on a console. Can they do well and handle well? Yes, this has been proven. Do they do as well as PC versions? Nope; as the main player base on the platform tends to be different.

I haven't heard about RTS on consoles tbh. Fighters on the other hand were present on PC since DOS versions. PC might have smaller gaming community, but it is by no means non existent. Plus half a million people buying a game on PC regardless fears of another shitty HVS port... It was big exhibition of trust. And I bet it would sell far better if the port was proven good (but it was proven sht day one, and WB has themselves to thank for that).
Anyway, times change. I like to see more fighting games/mobile games/all the other twisted kinds of games coming to PC, and more mobas coming to Xbox for example. This is going in right direction. And in the end - there will be only one. ;)
