The update seems to make the beta run worse. I'm fighting more connections that all over the place. This new netcode is starting to feel like the old netcode again :\
They may have adjusted a few things for testing purposes.

I don't know, played against @TQT1995 and other guys and the netcode looked as good as ever.

Tqt sorry if I was slow in selecting rematch but I had a phone call going on, ggs

Hmmm, felt like the opposite to me tbh, games felt great.

Edit: Nvm, just got done with some matches, I'm running into a lot more connection issues; Odd because it was working quite fine last night right after I finished the update.

Everything still feels better than old netcode to me, but I don't feel that this cycle of the beta feels as nice as the last cycle.

I haven't tried the new update yet but I really hope it feels like it did before the update, 95% of my games were nearly perfect before. I hope they didn't take a step backwards and if they did that they fix it before the final version. Generally (before the update) at 30-130ish ping the games were amazing

I have never tried the previous versions before, this new version is my first. Was the input delay this ridiculous in the previous versions?

This is definitely not rollback anymore, this crap feels like regular MKX.

The game seems to automatically set input delay based on your connection, the worst a connection is to a person, the more input delay.

GGPO generally lets you set how much input delay you want yourself, so you can choose to have a shit ton of rollback or input delay.
Doesn't seem like MKX is going to go that route, and just adjust it on the fly during matches, which is kind of annoying.

Right now they could be just testing something and have the input delay higher then normal, IDK, I haven't played this version of the beta yet.

Well if that's the case then I'd definitely want an option to set the delay to 0 every match. There's no reason not to on a good connection.

This is scaring me... I was having zero input delay in the beta before the update... I hope this is just NRS testing something and it won't be permanent. Input delay is unbearable

Weren't people saying once more players get on the beta it would get worse and that it was super smooth because limited people were on? Is this what's happening now, more lag because of more people? I hope not but I don't know anything about tech.

i have been getting some laggy matches lately. some matches are smooth but these last few days the connection seem to be going up and down.

Hopefully they're just testing various settings with the new netcode to see where it performs optimally in the most common environment.

It shouldn't.
It might effect their matchmaking servers, but not the quality of a match.

Though the more people in the beta, the more wifi people you are going to fight.

I play on wifi, and haven't had a problem before this update. Plus, I don't think it's a coincidence that the connections start to falter right after the patch.

I really hope they're just testing something, because it's starting to feel aquatic up in here.

Nope, that's actually a thing. Just tested it and it can totally happen in the current version of the game. Both the third and the fourth hit have hitboxes behind her, apparently.

this is kinda BS when numerous other things in the game visually look like they should hit but they dont. hopefully NRS either removes this or fixes the others.
 
I guess it could be possible. If they give all parries more recovery on whiff, empty jumps could be used to beat AA parries. Not sure how that would affect all the other parry characters though. Maybe it is already possible to punish them, depends on the recoveries.
Jump attacks recovery way faster than Subz parry. Empty jump would beat it regardless lol.

Ninjutsu is nowhere near top tier, the f2/f2 takedown can be fuzzied 100% of the time, without needing to think about it.

So essentially it's the same as before, with a better sweep.
Fair enough top tier might be pushing it. Still think it's better than a lot of people give it credit for. F2 controls a lot of space on the ground and combined with b2 forces you to respect him and block. Which only really gets you a throw at best, but that's not awful. He also controls the air well with j3 and njp. He does 30% off most combos and ends in either a hkd, or a restand. As for a mid string, ninjutsu has b121, which might not be great but it's safe at least. plus he's not super reliant on meter which doesn't hurt. idk he seems pretty good, just doesn't have much/any top player representation

instead of random like "beta runs worse now!" it would be good to know - what characters/variations were being used, which background, general idea of what was being done. (spamming!?) More characters are added as they are optimized and tweaked to run within perfomance benchmarks. The point of the beta is to find any outliers and potential high marks.

During general gameplay with Kotal (War/Sun God) on any of the three stages, I've noticed that it's a little choppier than normal. There really hasn't been any teleporting due to rollback (I've only seen it happen once or twice since the most recent update). Sometimes my inputs seem like they're dropped entirely, but it's very rarely. I attribute it to a short latency spike or something like that.

It still feels better than the current netcode, but it just doesn't feel as good as it did prior to the most recent update.

Okay I plYex both SD Johnny and Commando Kano and it seems to be crazy teleporting at 130 since update it was fine until 180 before that

Also it's not a big deal but there is a minor bug when Stunt Fouble does his up clone the clone stays in the screen only a visual issue does not effect gameplay
