Regarding New GGPO MKX Netcode: Bold Statements from Top Players

Just to add something on-topic to this thread...

After playing for about 2 hours on the new netcode... It's pretty damn amazing. I personally can't tell a difference between the new netcode and offline play as far as input timing goes.

Good job so far NRS, it's about damn time.

So far, the new netcode has turned out beautiful, barring the occasional desyncs...which I imagine are a byproduct of an incomplete model. I'm sure they'll no longer be a thing once the beta phase is done.

Now just adjust hitboxes so anti-airs work better and it's another step in the right direction.

Yes, I'm salty because I just got raped by Jax's cross-up jump-1.

I'm telling you, if you bridge your PC's wireless connection, plug an Ethernet cable into your PC and then plug it into your PS4, it will register as having a wired connection because the PS4 is receiving the Internet signal through a wire, not a wireless signal. Even doing a connection test shows it as being wired.

There would be an extraordinary amount of hoops to jump through in order for any system to determine if that's how your PS4/One is connected or not and I doubt any developer would ever bother wasting their time on that. As a matter of fact, it may not even be possible.

I very seriously doubt this will ever happen. No other developer has done it to my knowledge and I don't see the trend starting any time soon.
sorry i dont get it, cant you just plug ethernet cable into the ps4 and get a wireless connection?

I'm sure you meant wired and not "wireless". =P But yes, you can, but not everyone has the option of doing so because of the layout of their house, the location of their console, router, etc.

I'm just explaining that even if a system was put in place for MKX to identify if you're on wired/wireless, there are ways around it.

I got a beta code and I can finally play online. I am using wireless 5mb down 1 up and it is working good. Way better than the non beta online

If they're doing it now, a year after release, what stopped them from doing it at release? Was technology that much worse a year ago?
What Tony said and/or it wasn't even close to being ready yet.

I'm sure if they could have launched the game with the beta's netcode, they would have.

Green Lantern Corps.
Popeyes was indeed average. The sever I had also sucked so much, first order forgets my biscuit (which in hindsight I'm not too bothered about because to call that a biscuit is a crime, tasted horrible) Then she forgets my banana pudding that I was so looking forward too.

Lenny's subs was the savior of the week and I still feel bad for not giving them a chance earlier because the outside looked like shit. Forgive me Lenny.

Where art thou, MKX Skarlet?
This style of netcode has been around for quite a long time. Why is there surprise that, when NRS puts it in place, it works the way we know it does?

Trying not to be a hater, but maybe I'm just jealous that I couldn't experience this when Skarlet was a reality.

You take that back about the biscuits.

ALL I HAVE IS THE GREEN.
It still works fine. I have tested both wired and wireless and I can play fine on both.
I'm sure it seems playable, but it's not going to be a great experience for both parties like wired would be. Just play wired if you have the option. It's 10x better.
