General/Other - Tanya cR Dragon's Thoughts On Possible Tanya Changes

Then why don't you level up and take the Saucy Jack challenge lol
I'll take YOU on any day. You beat me, you can tell me to level up. I beat you, I won't even say a word. That's all that matters between you and me. Just let me know when and where.

I've been getting a lot of people asking me about what I think of the possible upcoming Tanya changes, so I made a video about it. If all of these nerfs do happen, I will still main Tanya. She is by far my best character no matter how much they nerf her. I'll probably secondary Kitana though, I've been liking her a lot lately. Even with these changes though I still think Tanya will be a pretty solid character. Hopefully you guys enjoy. Check it out below, and thanks for watching! :)

What do you know about Tanya? You don't even wear your hair the same as her's...

That is asinine. Not even SonicFox claims to be able to react to a 17 frame move.

Its a straight up 50/50.
I feel like this website is the worst when it comes to debating frames v reaction times.

I think it's mostly reads, not reaction.

I wish people would stop saying there's a 15 frame limit or whatever because when you convince yourself that it's one thing and it ends up being another, reaction doesn't matter, ya know? Because they don't ever take into consideration the 1 frame to duck or stand up or anything...just the ability to react.

Iunno, I know science is science but I do know that if somebody is throwing me a football and in mid air, I realize that it's a basketball...it takes me lIke a second to be like "oh shit, that's a fucking basketball" ya know?

What you said is true. The other thing people dont consider is thst the 15 frames is only when you are reacting to one stimuli (press a button when it turns green etc.). In this situation you have to decide between 3-4 options (Ex rekka, wakeup 50/50, delayed wakeup, no wakeup, backdash etc.). So even if you could do the button test in 15 frames, there is no way you can react to all those options within 15f. 19f is in the realm of possibility if you have REALLY fast reaction time, but the average players reaction time would likely be between 22-24 frames.

Agreed. I'll admit I use to be a reaction time junky but my reaction time always sucked. Then I realized it was about picking up on tendencies more than reacting to character movements.

Mostly because video game sprites have over exaggerated movements that humans do not, even when mocapped...while in basketball, I can watch the hips of someone I'm guarding and it'll tell the whole story...a video game sprite will move it's whole body and there are a lot of moving parts...so the people talking about reactions need to tell me what they are watching. The arms? The feet? It's all conditional.

Like Erron Black 50/50, his feet start the same motion for the overhead (step up) and the low (low kick), his hips do not move and one of his arms maintain the same spot...so what do you watch?

I don't think @Airvidal is suggesting one can react to it though. I'm guessing he is suggesting you can fuzzy guard it by blocking low then high regardless of what is happening on screen. I personally agree that is fuzzy able but hard. 6 frame difference is probably toward the lower end of what is consistently fuzzy able.

And since this is a wake up, she can't blow up the fuzz guard attempt by delaying the low. This isn't easy to do because six frames is relatively short but I think it's possible.

Isn't that Paul the one that was guessing the winners of each match at that tournament in South Africa I believe? hahaha or was it the World Cup before that one? lol
And yes, your observation is on point.
