Regarding New GGPO MKX Netcode: Bold Statements from Top Players

Net code is great for me, even when playing 300ms connection. but when i play a friend that has WIFI, thats where the match turns into projectiles you can't see, cuz the wifi players make your ping spike in game like no other.

hopefully they add:

WIFI Indicators, like the ping pre match, just have a stamp that shows what players are on a WIRELESS online connection and who is on WIRED connection.

I very seriously doubt that will ever happen. Someone could bridge their connection with their PC's wireless and run an Ethernet cable to their PS4 and the PS4 will think it's running on a wired connection.

wouldnt stop them from implamenting it imo

and i dont think that would work.. cuz it would work of the consoles system that tell the server what connection type they are connected to the internet, and i dont think a PC would show as Wired XB live connection on console. even if it would be better than now

I'm telling you, if you bridge your PC's wireless connection, plug an Ethernet cable into your PC and then plug it into your PS4, it will register as having a wired connection because the PS4 is receiving the Internet signal through a wire, not a wireless signal. Even doing a connection test shows it as being wired.

There would be an extraordinary amount of hoops to jump through in order for any system to determine if that's how your PS4/One is connected or not and I doubt any developer would ever bother wasting their time on that. As a matter of fact, it may not even be possible.

I very seriously doubt this will ever happen. No other developer has done it to my knowledge and I don't see the trend starting any time soon.

Heads up!
The only disappointment is that they obviously had the resources to do this from the start but chose not to. Better late than never.

I've played the current beta on wired and wireless. When the beta was first released it was really good but it did have some hiccups. From my understanding, they tested the game on the maximum amount of rollback possible which is why players experienced their opponents "teleporting" or some lagginess. That has since been fixed, and even folks with high pings in the 200+ range aren't a problem. I don't think doing other things online while playing during the new netcode will be a problem.

The current netcode in mkx relies more on how good your connection is and how close / far you are that will result in a better experience for both players. The new netcode really is awesome and not everything is tied to the end-user.

How do you know they were from the UK?

^this. I've been having some extremely good matches with some very talented players as of late and it has me a little concerned lol. Sometimes I'll get paired with someone who has 2 wins and 1 loss, yet my chances of winning are in the low 30s lol. I'm like WTF is this? When I fight they are REALLY good. The other night I could barely take any matches off a player and it was a hard pill to swallow.

How do you know you're playing against NA?

I do hope everything works just as great as it is now. There may be some initial hiccups with possibly the servers but that can be easily remedied.
Maybe because the beta is NA only? Faced Slayer, Vman and Jupiter already.

I just had my first Popeyes experience and here's my judgement: fries and biscuits are godlike. The chicken and mashed potatoes are mid to low tier.
Man...okay I won't complain. At least you acknowledged the biscuits.

I know it's for NA only but how are folks in other countries playing folks in the US? I thought it wasn't possible
The beta is linked to US only servers but WB has been sending codes out randomly I presume. I got lucky with a code and now I'm playing against the NA region until it finishes. Yes, other people can join from different countries.

What if you got quotes from non-nrs players/testers? Not that they're wrong, netcode is perfect, just people from other communities probably have doubts that such a miracle for nrs games could happen based on past experience/stereotypes. Other FG communities would be more interested if they're tournament players said the same things.
i was one of the first to praise the netcode :)

damn it does work... im thinking maybe they can be the first... or at least do something, maybe you have a solution?

How many people would go through that much trouble to trick it. The game should just be like "It appears your ps4 is in wireless mode. online is not accessible to fucking idiots, sorry for the inconvenience" or something

If you're referring to bridging your connection, it takes about 10 seconds to right-click on your network and then click on "Bridge connection". All that's left after that is running a wire to your PS4. It takes like a minute, tops.

You are aware that some people have no other choice but to go wireless, right?

I don't believe there would be any type of solution. They're just gonna have to set a certain ping threshold in milliseconds that allows you to decline matches if you're doing ranked or something. They should also make sure that the milliseconds displayed is as accurate as can be when looking for folks to play against in lobbies.
