I actually went in the Opposite Direction of the OP, I started off with Scorpion as my main but Sub-Zero was a better fit for me, every thing was just so smooth. He's been my main ever since. As the games got more advanced I couldn't play as many characters as I did in MK-MK4 so I pretty much had just a main and a 2nd. MKDA I Only played as Sub-Zero as the game had so much more to learn than every other game before that but I learned everything about him. It paid Off though MKD Came Along and there were barely any changes so I could Learn Noob-Smoke and Scorpion in depth. MK9 was a relief as I didn't have to learn 3 styles per character anymore but I played it on the VITA and by the time I had it on Console here after the ban was lifted MKX was just around the corner so I had lost interest learning other characters. MKX though I've Only had it since November I'm still to play through Story Mode but I've practiced with 3/4 of the Cast now and I'm thinking of Piercing Mileena and Shirai Ryu Takeda as possible 2nds or even 3rds depending on how Triborg Smoke goes.
