General/Other - Tanya cR Dragon's Thoughts On Possible Tanya Changes

I've been getting a lot of people asking me about what I think of the possible upcoming Tanya changes, so I made a video about it. If all of these nerfs do happen, I will still main Tanya. She is by far my best character no matter how much they nerf her. I'll probably secondary Kitana though, I've been liking her a lot lately. Even with these changes though I still think Tanya will be a pretty solid character. Hopefully you guys enjoy. Check it out below, and thanks for watching! :)

Your changes seem reasonable especially with the wake up rekka options. I would say make her b3 string 10 Frame su and make B1 string high and 16 Frame su

These changes are not confirmed, though. Don't think she will lose the mid or armor on Tonfa Strike, sounds too big a nerf/redundant, but I'm hoping myself that there'll be less inconsistencies for punishing her, specifically EX tonfa toss neutral crouching (which is character specific) and increased risk on her Rekkas. She'll still have EX teleport pressure which requires some execution and is still counterable, also this would make her overall game-plan less "boring".

Why would it be too tough of a nerf? Removing armor on tonfa isn't too bad but if they're nerfing they should not make ending in reka plus but safe , also she should do like 5% or 4% chip and she should also build less meter.

Removing the armor on Tonfa Strike would make the move useless, the only difference you'd get from it is that the second rekka becomes -4 opposed to -13 (gapless), it's just not worth the bar given what she can do with them. Either way, 8% for a safe armored move is not an issue imo.
Changing the mid to high removes the ability to hitconfirm when you catch your opponent pressing buttons (and thus any damage potential), which is pretty much how she has to be played, like Dragon said, she'll be playing more like Tremor but Tremor has a +11 on block Rock Drop (that he can combo off and punish opponents who try to steal pressure) to special cancel with his d1/d4, Tanya just doesn't have the meterless tools for poke mindgames and with Rekka's being most likely nerfed, that leaves little options for a character that has holes everywhere. She basically won't be doing much pressure up-close and that's where her (Kobu's) strength is.

About your other points, yeah I agree, she shouldn't be plus but maybe around -4 (fully delayed) if Liu is not building meter in his pressure, I don't mind seeing Tanya have something similar, as long as rekka's don't become absolutely useless, because it's always been a risk using them.

Hmm , true i guess , but atleast they should make her ex tonfa unsafe or something (example making her not be able to delay it) because its pretty ridiculous to be fair.

I think they'll just take out EX tonfa toss still hitting after Tanya is hit, maybe reduce EX rekka blockstun on all hits, and possibly the b12+4 change in the video.
 
all she needs change so other characters can compete with her is the two hits in b1 to be slow down so it will not break armor and increase the start up to 10 frames which still is a very fast mid.

I 100% agree with taking armour off tonfa strike. She doesn't need a safe armoured move that can be hit confirmed into full combo. She already has a a 50/50 armoured wake up option, one again leading into full combo. It only makes sense
