That black guy token became Jax, they broke him out the mold quite well hes dope as hell now

Lets see if they can do it with Jacqui as well, maybe she needs her legs ripped off

It's obvious that he needed a revamp.
Oh, and do you guys remember what word was found pertaining to KP2? It was 'Encore'.
New LF, new Alien, new cyborg, and last but not least, new Bo' Rai Cho.

Yes, Kai was apparently [supposed] to be in the story for this game but they replaced him with Bo I believe.

I want to see Kai again, his MK4 design was interesting (fuck that Armageddon outfit, who even was that?) and I think he could become an interesting character.

However, for a hypothetical KP3? No. He should be utilized in MKXI (and I'm starting to feel that Fujin should as well). I'd much rather Havik or Reiko since both died in the comics.

I didn't read the comics but I agree with the notion that if he was included, he should be in MKXI.

You know LF inspired the likes of Jason, Michael, Freddy so on and so on. He was (next to Norman Bates) the first slasher villain.

Kai was a massive waste of space then and he would be a massive waste of space now. He would have to be in the top 10 worst MK characters of all time.

Kai lost his opportunity when Kung Jin got the spot of young shaolin.

To be honest there isn't much Kai can offer to make him unique, not to mention trying to fill 3 different variations full of characteristic moves when even Kitana and Goro need "tribute variations" of Jade and Kintaro to have a full set of variations.

I wouldn't put him in the Kobra tier of bad characters, but he is probably bottom 10 in terms of offering an unique moveset and personality that defines him as his own character.

THAT SAID he could be revamped and retcon a lot of stuff to give him a new array of powers and unique moves, but it would be a completly different character than he was pre-MK9 and the result would be Kai just because of the name, so probably not worth the effort.

But, going forward, a lot of characters not present in MKX would need to be revamped anyways since their key qualities were utilized in other fighters: Noob (Johnny and Scorpion), Baraka (Erron Black and Alien), Nightwolf (Kung Jin), Jade (Kitana), Kintaro and Sheva (Goro), and so on...

Because he embodies mk perfectly and is amazing, he is goofy, he is a well respected fighter that kicks ass, and he is brutal as fuck. Boom, everything MK. Bo is love, bo is life

Not exactly, Noob "clone" style is more dynamic than Stun Double (or inferno) and he has a lot of characteristic stuff ( black holes, anti block forceball, teleport, preMK9 shurikens... plenty to fill multiple variations), Sindel has the screams, the starballs, the hair grab and flying isn't exclusive from Ermac. Nightwolf has more green weapons than just the bow and he has the reflect and the storm or the cleansing light based powers, Jade should get her stuff back (and also Tanya naginata variation should've been for Jade) and she still has the green aura... Sheeva or Baraka are bland in that aspect (I think that with Baraka dead it's the perfect moment for Shang Tsung to resurrect him with extra mutations to make him interesting).

Kai is also bland in that regard, there isn't too much that you say "this is typical and characteristic of Kai" so the revamp should be huge. Even Stryker had more base stuff to work with.

But if the revamp is done right (inner chi stuff to unlock special powers or whatever mystic excuse they find) he could get his place. Of course better him than any guest character (I'd even take Kobra and Darrius over guests).

I'm only saying that base Kai doesn't have much to pick for the direction of this game at least as we remember him.
