Fujin!
I dropped MKX because of various reasons. I don't have any locals or anything like that, I don't have any friends who try to play competitively, so I rely on online to play competitively. But the online was pretty bad which was a HUGE deal to me. I was also disappointed with the story and was upset about the DLC and microtransaction shenanigans the game had.
Despite me being upset about everything and even saying things like "they screwed it up!" pretty often, I've still been keeping a close eye on the game -- which obviously means I still care about the game to some extent. Today I saw some gameplay of a character I liked playing (Jax) and I felt like turning on the game and jumping into practice mode, but I had to remind myself about how much I was disappointed last time I played. However, all day today I've been thinking about MKX. The characters, the stages, the music, etc. I even started asking myself questions like "Should I play with my fightstick or just play with the pad? -- I think the pad might be better for MKX"
The issue though, is of course, I don't want to be disappointed again. Street Fighter V will also be out in a few months, so will Killer Instinct on PC. I'm planning on playing both of those games to the highest level I can and I don't know if I will touch MKX again when I am focusing on two games so hard. Do you think I should start playing MKX again? Or do you think I will just be wasting my time?
