I figured out how to zoom the pipboy on the ps4. While in pipboy, press and hold the touch pad then swipe right (while still pushing down). Reverse to zoom out.

Does it seem like you level up quickly to anyone else? Also, is the map really bigger than FO3? It seems like you can make it half way across in a really short amount of time. Maybe because I'm in more open areas and haven't gotten to the city yet, Lexington is as close as I've gone.

I think you level up faster now since there is no level cap. You also level up considerably faster if you have low intelligence and the Idiot Savant perk (requires 5 luck). The higher your intelligence, the lower chance of Idiot Savant proccing. If you don't know what that perk does, any action that yields XP (quests, exploration, kills, etc) has a chance to give you 3x the amount of XP (5x at level 2).

It procced when I turned in my first quest and I went from level 1 to level 5, lol. You can also save scum to abuse it if you want. Just do a quicksave right before you're gonna turn in a quest and keep reloading until it procs. I'm not recommending you do this, but you can if you want. Just throwing it out there.

This is really good advice. Matter of fact, idiot savant is a great perk to take no matter what your intelligence is. It give such a considerable XP boost if you're looking for that sort of thing.

This is also true, which I should have mentioned. A guy on Reddit did some testing and found that Idiot Savant is great to have at any intelligence level.

Oh, also. Someone theorized that you should drink alcohol before turning in quests as that temporarily lowers your intelligence! I don't know if it works or not since at the time I read about it, no one had done any real testing.

If you do the Minute Men quest line you eventually unlock an insanely badass workshop called The Castle. It's literally a castle fort with enough water for an insane number of water pumps.
Another heads up, I don't know if this is the same on every game, but my Castle had a Legendary Mireluke. If you wait until you get it unlocked for building, you can just stick a turret in the room he is hanging out in

It's all so very confusing.

Finally, I know what go work towards. I haven't been working on any settlements because I haven't found one I wanted to call 'home' yet, but this sounds bad as hell. Might push for this just go mKe a base of operations for myself.

I'm so stupid. I just figured out last night that you can buy a weapon that had a mod you like on it but can't craft yourself. Then go to crafting and replace the mod with one you have laying around. Then take the mod you just replaced and put it on your gum.of.choice.

I don't have the perks go upgrade the laser receiver von my lasee rifle very far, but stumbled on a rifle at a vendor that already had the next step up receiver and did it that way.

Sniper rifle criticals via VATS are insanely OP and do 2-3 times the damage you would've done from a sneak attack headshot with 2 ranks of better criticals.

The game seems to have lots of excessive ways to advance in general. OP weapons, OP legendary weapons if you're lucky enough, Idiot savant quicksave reloading, producing water for all the caps you'd ever need...

I know I'm definitely reloading quests with idiot savant the moment I make my melee character.

Is there a level cap? I've heard conflicting statements.

Get your luck to 5 and get it anyway. It was proven to be useful regardless of your intelligence over the course of the game.

I wasn't able to play all weekend, running around town with the lady. Reading through this thread I see I have a lot to do and exactly how to do it!

You unlock an artillery cannon that you can build at each of your settlements. You get some special smoke grenades that signal the artillery to bombard a designated area.

If anyone plans on doing the infinite cap exploit, I found a trick that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Once you get the exploit to work, instead of spamming to sell back the ammo, go to the seller's inventory and spam like you're trying to buy back the glitched ammo. Instead of gaining the price of a single piece of ammo per click, you get the entire stack's worth and it feeds back into the stack, causing it to multiply with each click.

Basically, instead of getting upwards of 27 caps per click, you can get to around 20,000 with only a few clicks.

I hate the caps exploit that was found. Really ruins the immersion for me, although I don't hate on ppl who use it. I just really enjoy playing the game how it was made.

I am a broke son of a bitch tho :(

I was wondering this for a while but...

In the beginning of the game, why do those people kill everyone in the Vault but leave you alive??? I understand the child getting kidnapped is for story purposes, but is there anything I missed in the beginning that explains why they were literally killing everyone but left the Sole Survivor alone??? Or is this some ridiculous plot hole lol.

Beats me. But the guy said something about at least them still having you left. I don't think they would have killed your spouse if they had just given up the kiddo.
