Only played three and a half hours last night. Love the game so far (just finished killing the raiders w/PA).

My only complaint thus far is the Pipboy. The light is green when you turn it on. I know that's more realistic since the screen is green, but man, its makes it hard to see in the dark (and it gets DARK). Also, why do I need to see so much around the PipBoy and the dials on it and shit... what a waste of screen real estate. I liked the Pipboy in FO3 better where the screen pretty much took up your whole screen.

Finally, why is there no brightness adjustment in the game? My LCD TV is a few years old and not as bright as it used to be. Most games I need to turn it up to be able to see properly. Is there a setting for it somewhere and I missed it?

There is a brightness slider in the Display Settings, I thought. Check there.

And for the Pip-Boy light, I think it actually lights up according to the display. For instance, I usually did white or orange text on the Pip-Boy in FO3 and FONV. I was tired and could remember white in RGB faster than orange, so I set the settings to that for the text. When I turned on the light, it was frakkin' bright white all around me, so much so that I actually thought they "buffed" the Pip-Boy light too much for FO4. Try changing the text if you haven't already.

"Infinite" cap glitch has been found: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/164592-fallout-4/72803637

Obviously you don't have to do this. But if you're ever short on money for whatever reason, this can help solve that problem.
This ain't GTA! The cheap way out lol. Anyone who does this main's Quan Chi.

Are you talking about the flashlight? I find some areas pretty dark but when I use the flashlight I can see pretty clearly. The PipBoy itself I can see what you mean though in the viewing. I guess it's to make it seem more authentic or something.

I'm not gonna do it myself, lol.

But I'm only up to Concord at the moment. I didn't get a chance to play for long once I finally got it downloaded and installed. I hate playing on a keyboard and mouse. I know I could use a controller, but I don't feel like getting it set up.

That's odd. Are you playing on console or PC? I heard complaints that there ISN'T auto aim, but I didn't look into them or pay them much thought.
PC.

Also, there's a building with a great vantage point against the vortega plant but there's 8 ghouls that will ambush you in a back alley.

This mean you don't like me?

Have you obtained "The Authority" from George Clooney yet? I've got a Sniper, but mode a scope on that and grab the book (that should be fairly nearby that area) that gives you a permanent 5% increase to scope damage, and you should have a secondary long range weapon that has an abundance of ammo-using dreg enemies. The laser spread is accurate/splashy enough to off-set precision sloppiness aim assist issues with say ballistics.

And in a pinch, its hip fire accuracy and rate of fire make it viable for CQC sans shotgun.

Had to take it down to Hard difficulty. None of my weapons were even hurting anything... Hopefully I get a decent weapon soon.

No idea what the first thing is.

Autoaim doesn't make it hard to aim, it makes it a chore when I someone next to the person I'm pointing at is a priority and my crosshairs/scope go slow as shit.

As a sniper I have that sawed-off shotgun looking rifle with a medium/long range scope, a headshot will kill raiders most of the time.

You'll find something soon, turn it back up.

I also recorded 2 hours of footage, wish I could upload but it'd take 8 hours with my internet. Gonna cut it up in 2 clips of 2 particular places and upload.

Nah put it back to Survival man. I'm wishing I could turn it UP another difficulty right now lol. Enemies are dying too quick. Only big numbers of enemies are tougher. That's that early game syndrome you going through right now. It'll get easier.

If you're having trouble getting adhesives, here's what you do.
1. Go to settlement.
2. Plant corn, tatos, and mutfruit. Harvest it yourself.
3. Build a water purifier in the water. The industrial if you can. This will slowly add bottles of purified water to your workshop.
  • Alternatively, if you have dirty water, 3 dirty water = 1 purified water in the cooking station.
4. Once you have corn, tatos, mutfruit, and purified water go to the cooking station.
5. Make Vegetable Starch at the cooking station. It breaks down into 5 adhesives.
6. Renewable adhesive program.

I don't remember seeing a brightness setting in Display options. I'm on PS4, though, are you also?

Yes I assume it would match the color you set the PipBoy text too, but I do like having the green text on the screen, I'd have to have to change it to white just to have a usable light source. I'm sure vaulttec could make the pipboy emit white light in flashlight mode and green when using the screen :)

Is there a flashlight item separate from the pipboy light you turn on by holding the pipboy button? If you are i haven't found that yet. Using the pipboy I don't think seeing the whole thing is more authentic because I certainly would be holding the damn screen close to my old ass eyes, lol.
