@ESG Jagged I think you have something to say about this. But my answer is simple. Quan Chi downplayer :)
edit this out... "Quan Chi downplayer"

this is dave actually being serious, believe it or not.
this is what i was talking about:
remember when you asked me why everyone Flips a wig on M2Dave!
yep this along many other posts is why.
i dont think he is trying to downplay, i actually think he is guniune in his Posts and point of view. but as you can see know this is why.
he can sometimes be delusional. we all know Shujinky can downplay a bit with his character, even though STB are good guys. no ill will towards any of them.

Quan is top can make you guss like 5 times in corner. massive Pressure, Full map control. Obnoxious mixups that are Unreactible.. insaine high damage thats unblockable.
Looping Vortex situations. puts this character above all others, only other character that has a chance is HQT at mediating his pressure.
Main point Quan does what the other power houses do but Better!

and on another note. not hating but Lao is nowhere fucking near Quan in any way. Lao lost to much. Lao doesnt have the mixup, Lao doesnt have the pressure after pushback nerf, Lao may only have one thing on Quan a viable Wakup... but i think some should Wakeup and realize Lao is not Quan/HQT/Tanya level(and Tanya is below the other 2)

Quan Chi being lower than top 3 is not in the realm of possibility at all. 60% combos for one bar of meter, 50% unbreakables, best mixups/vortex in the game, best comeback factor in the game, best zoning in the game.

As bad as it for Quan to get cornered, it's just as bad or even WORSE for the other character to be in his vortex
You are certainly one of the most prevalent individuals with a forceful anti-zoning agenda.

Besides, you used Quan Chi today and lost to REO's week one Tremor.

Summoner with 3 bars recap: I have a quarter, so everyone guess heads or tails.
I flip once. ( guess ) if you guessed heads your dead, bye.
I flip again. ( guess ) if you guessed heads your dead, bye.
I flip again. ( guess ) if you guesses tails your dead, bye.
I flip again. ( guess ) if you guessed heads your dead, bye.
BTW I now almost have another quarter. So how many people won the game?

True, it is.
But that's quans balancing for you.
Extremely bad in some areas extremely good in others.
i have massive respect for Sorcerors and Warlocks, but none for Summoners... its just to easy to take control in that variation. with this Guess game 50/50.. is he gonna Lowbat B32 or is he gonna Low bat OH(15frame unreact-able) low rune, then oh,lowbatB32lowrune. the possiboilities are endless. and you cant guess right every time. and with meter he can do this 3 times. and if you guess wrong after that, say hello to 50% guess wrong get wrecked

I was going to make a post similar to this, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet since I'm just reiterating your point.

Quan Chi's defensive options in summoner are often cited as his weakness to prevent him from being top X (1, 3, 5, etc) in the game.

This does not factor in how Quan Chi's offensive can be done to ignore the opponents defensive options, making them equal to Quan Chi himself. Meaning they must block.

However Summoner Quan Chi has the best offense in the game. This turns the match into the best offense in the game (summoner) vs no defensive options but blocking ridiculious mixups (opponent). When the opponent is on offense, it turns into NOT the best offense in the game vs no defensive options but blocking, mostly.

Summoner turns every match into an arms race of offense in which he is the best at.

If he possibly loses a match it'd have to do with some sort of neutral game problem. But his neutral game is strong in many matches due to his powerful zoning, great jump attacks and long range overhead.

I disagree it's hard for him to get his offense going. Usually by the time he does the opponent has access to a breaker or armour limiting his options. He's #6 on my personal tier list.

In all honesty, I don't hate this thread. He invoked a response without asking for buffs. There's obviously discrepancies, but the overall consensus from the community to answer this thread is that no, Quan Chi is not a mid tier character. Okay, bye.

YES!
First reasonable Quan Chi thread ever to appear on TYM

No single Quan Variation is top tier. Calling him mid tier is an exaggeration, but way more within the realm of possibility than being the best in the game
