Maximilian found a way to reduce LAG in MKX

To be honest with you, the online experience hasn't been that bad for me. There has been a few matches underwater, but in my opinionl it hasn't been any different for me than any other fighting game I play.

Max had stated in the video this is only a "work-around" and that the Netduma router can only do so much.

He did state the netcode is still atrocious even in said vid, and that this was essentially a "last-ditch effort".

My thing is, if MKX is already region-locked, then holy shit NRS fucked up big time on the netcode. I mean when you're hot you're hot, when you're not...

It's time to let someone else do it for IGAU2 and give pointers, it's only fair to not only the casuals but to us as well. Let's face it, MKX online is shit. Dogshit. Matchups play completely different than offline WAY TOO MUCH, input delay, lag, dropped frames/combos etc...

All this on a wired router with 15MBPS d/3MBPS u and ports opened. Should not have an issue. As someone stated in the thread before: Avoid ranked, I'd only play matches with people with good connections and most of the people here.

There's no 'fix' for MKX online. It's just a complete mess and the game will soon die because let's be honest...nobody is going to put up with this with the better options of fighting games that actually perform well online.

Punching bag that throws fans !
Old news.

Not to mention that narrowing matches in a game that is already region locked ... is hilarious.

What's next ?

Narrowing matches to 5 feet around your router ?

NRS should stop working themselves on the online part of their games.

It's quite obvious they just don't have a clue at how it works.

That ... or they think putting money in the marketing part works better for them in the long run.

And considering how well MKX sold ... get ready for more garbage netcode for IGAU2 + DLC packs (because you know you will buy KP2 !)

Um, no, actually this will pretty much fix the problems with MKX Online, as they are all related to lag. I mean, you'll still get a bit of frame drop, and you'll still get the clueless wireless people every now and then.

But to say it doesn't help immensely is simply false.
You're reply is immensely false too, a Sheep will follow the other Sheep.

Lol, whatever you want, guy. I could make a long post about how ping relates to online play, and how setting a ping range will definitely make MKX Online a ton better, but what's the point?

I'll just get people telling me that they should be able to play wireless from the moon with zero lag.

This is the game we have gentlemen. This is a legitimate work around. Does it make it offline? No. Does it make it better (by a great deal)? Yes.

Take it or leave it.

I considered getting this thing when I was still playing, but shit. I already paid out the ass for the game, the PS4 (which is like $600 here), the DLC, PS Plus and whatever else there was. I shouldn't have to pay another couple of hundred because of NRS' prehistoric netcode.

I could make a long post about networking and programming, plus the fact that I was a QA lead tester for 7 years for a Major Software/Hardware company with Microsoft Certified Qualifications and the rest. But hey, what's the point and this is TYM, which I would waste my time in so many ways and have better things to do with my time.

It's all so very confusing.
If this helps that's great, it is a LEGIT option for people WILLING to spend the money.

But ya know what's a damn shame? That such basic features aren't already in.

Personally though, I don't see why people are getting angry that this was found. If it works, its an OPTION for those WILLING. Shitty options are better than none. I'm not doing it..

I honestly think this should be known. It's bullshit that it's necessary, but at least there ARE OPTIONS.

Or :

NRS could just add a ping meter so that you can filter the player list accurately.

But that's some expensive shit right there.

Better buy a new router indeed.
It does show that the fix wouldn't really be all that difficult. It very much simplifies the question to NRS, why?

Don't you already pretty much have this option without needing a $200 router? You're in a room, sort by best ping, and then pretend that everyone that doesn't have 4 green bars by their name doesn't exist.

Am I missing something?
