The safest way to recharge the soul ball might be using 11 after b12, +14 on hit so guarantees b3 or f4 and +2 on block so we keep our turn.just throwing this in here , my own way of dallying between combos to get my souls back : combo into soul ball ji2 b12 (this part) ji2 then either low air blast, or d4, both leave them close enough to follow up with b3 or f4 , if you are ballsy and land a b3/f4 tele it can be looped

11 on block doesn't guarantee your turn, you'll only get a D1 if they don't feel like blocking and if they do you're -10. You may get D3, it may trade depending on the counterpoke. But a backdash/armour is always a possibility. You don't get any mid hitting move at +2. However stopping 11 short to 1 and trying to sneak in something additional is always worth a go every now and then.
You're right, I should've phrased it better. You get the d1 option at +2 and that might open up some mind games, but its not free pressure or anything like that.
