Please bro don’t give up on Jacqui. Who’s knows maybe in another patch they’ll give her some buffs again just please I ask you STOP giving up. Stay positive! Not related but, this world have too many negatives already. I heard her (shotgun) variation didn’t get untouched so just be grateful that variation didn’t get horribly nerf like FA did. For right now calm down. It’s not the end of the world if a fighting game character is nerf. Strive for hope and you won’t be down. That's what keeps me going forward.

I also want to point out that most of the time I saw folks on YT use Jacqui online before "this" patch came, most of the time, they used her shotgun variation. I assuming at this point until they fix this fiasco her (shotgun) variation may be her last hope but I don't know. So yeah I'm sorry if your disappointed, but don't get to down about it. But if all hope is loss for Jacqui to you then focus on Kano or any other mains that you have in this game. I don't like to see folks sad so I'm just bringing some positively here if you don't mind. My condolences to all Jacqui players here who are upset about the change.

Yea SG Jacqui is pretty much the same and will likely be the base variation. We've been debating a little which we thought was better between FA and SG, but now it seems clear. FA still might be ok overall, but these changes are a huge downgrade.

I'll give it a run for the time being but I think I'll turn a 50/50 split into a 80/20 split for SG Jacqui.

The main issue I have with these types of nerfs is the reasoning. The game is played dirty in itself, so why nerf a character that isn't even Top Tier while leaving the Top the same? Lol doesn't make sense.

I'll ride it out for now. Hopefully I can still hang.
 
Once I saw wonderchefs vid I knew the nerf was coming why did they nerf ex though it costs one bar I had a 20% inescapable chip string for four bars now thats gone

I guess in a way looking at it from a real life point of view, the Top tier characters are probably the most used and probably the main reason why this game still sell like hotcakes despite the flaws. It might be a dumb thought because I'm not expert in this type of stuff. However what I have notice for a while is that demanded or popular characters in most video games always seem to get the best treatment than others who are unpopular. Just look at the treatment the mascots get any fighting game. I could be wrong but this is what I've been noticing.

NRS seems to be 'balancing' cough..

Based on some metric we don't understand. Maybe, and I'm betting I'm giving them 500x too much credit here , but MAYBE they are seeing an endgame we don't. Ie, whatever kp2 has in store and whatever long-range vision they have for the game. Maybe some of the bizarre shit we see will make sense within that context. Maybe they have fundamental game-system changes planned that will change err'thang and we are just seeing a few foundational marks being laid out, for what will become a wonderful little sculpture in time.

My money is on NRS being just a bunch of gibbering code monkeys laughing hysterically while face-punching the keyboard and screaming something unintelligible about ramen, soap, balance patches and ketchup as a fashion statement (condiment, not.player).

But, ya know, looking for aa brighter side here. Btw, SF has waffles. I will give you waffles if you play SF.

Are you talking about tourney players? …………..wow Idk why NRS would just solely focus on them. This game seem to be unbalance on a mechanical standpoint then if that’s the case. We’ll all I can tell you is to chill don’t pull your hair out or anything just relax and breathe. Just hang in there like you said and don’t give up or quit. ATM focus on what you still can do with Jacqui or any other of your mains. I sorry if this patch angers you.

I apologise, I've mained, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, D'Vorrah & now Jacqui , its my faultshe got nerfed cos every single fucking character I use in this game gets nerfed!!

I'm picking up Quan Cheese cos that baldy prick is still getting away with murder!

I didn't know what people were talking about the last few posts, then I checked the patch notes which I missed because I haven't played since last Thursday... okay it looks like they are aiming to eliminate block traps and fix some of the obvious bugs. I thought it was going to be something much worse for Jacqui, but I can deal with this. Also, I like the B2 cancel on block. I'd rather be + on block than minus, even if pushed back. I don't know how far away you get pushed or how this affects the EX version, but I'll check when I get home.

The thing is that this doesn't just affect B2. It affects F12~up rocket as well.

I wasn't exclusively talking about Up Rocket when referring to the cancel ability.

What I don't know is how EX Up Rocket is affected in this recent patch. Someone said it was nerfed as well, but I haven't seen it for myself and if so, it's unlisted. Still, even if it was reduced by 5, that would still leave it at +29 (EX version), so I'm curious to see what how that nerf actually looks in-game (extreme pushback maybe).

More push back and stun. Only a RC S1 is guaranteed. Anything else can be countered.

Also, with her pathetic range on normals, good luck with your follow ups any UpR.

Seems to be the trend, yeah. Scorpion and Liu Kang's block strings were both nerfed to be unviable for repeat run cancel block pressure. Takeda was given a more sensible nerf to stop his block infinite shenanigans in Ronin. Shinnok got his looping block string nerfed, as did Kung Lao, and now Jacqui.

When Johnny gets more popular, the same thing will probably happen to him as he has insane + frames on a lot of his cancels in A-list.

Seems like NRS did a complete 180 on block cancel pressure decisions.

They're not doing a 180. They don't think you should be jailed into guaranteed followups. They've been nerfing this type of stuff since the start. They still have some things to catch, such as Liu's loops still being possible, Cage altogether, etc.

The nerf makes sense from that standpoint, but I feel like they saw what letting b2 cancel on block allowed, and instead of fixing b2, they just nerfed rockets. :/

That is pulling a 180. DF Liu Kang is built around run cancel pressure- ie, jailing from one string into another. That's how the character was designed to be played. Now his main block string (F213) can only jail on block into another F213 if your execution is frame perfect (good luck with that in a real match). Tempest Lao was specifically buffed to have his hat jail, so this kind of thing isn't an accident. Same with Shinnok.

Then they subsequently nerfed everything that got popular. Johnny is still rolling flush with amazingly plus cancels, but that probably won't survive Dizzy winning a tournament or two with A-list. Or Tom Brady making another butt hurt video. It really seems to me that NRS, for whatever reason, just does NOT do the math on these kind of moves (even when it's in the frame data in game for all to see). Either that, or they have no idea what they're trying to accomplish with them and yo-yo the nerfs/buffs after the fact.
