Would either of you care to explain your Naginata/Pyro placings? Legitimately curious. I personally prefer Naginata but any reason it's better or worse than Pyro specifically?
Pyro's zoning isn't as good anymore, what really made her zoning good was her teleport and that, well yeah. Also they shouldn't have added the recovery to her fireball, that just made it from a high tier variation to lower-mid. I personally believe Naginata is better because it actually has mix-ups with B3 and ia staff stance, plus better meterless damage

Naginata always seemed to struggle opening people up with no true over head.
I don't usually have an issue with opening someone up lol. Most of the time, I can condition the opponent to block how I want them to block by using Spin Cycle (B3, 2) so they'll block that last overhead then I'll mix up with Drill Kick. And if I'm not mistaken, B3, 2 has advantage on block.

Other than that, Staff Stance overhead in general will sometimes catch people off guard and you can full combo from that. You can also get crafty with F3 holds and cancels which, depending on position, can also be uses for a follow up combo.

Armored Shroud is a fantastic addition to Pyro though. And it may still be better, but I don't think opening someone up is an issue with Naginata.

But this is just my experience. She's not my main so I'm still learning and I'm open to suggestions lol.

Naginata was a useful variation until they nerfed the teleport.. now its super predictable as far as how you want to get in or starting offense. the staff stance isn't that good either. overall pyro is definitely a go to variation over DN. but if you are making dragon naginata work...more power to you.

When she was first released, I started with Pyro. It was the easiest to learn imo. But at this point, I prefer Kobu and Naginata. Naginata is easily the most fun for me but you can't argue with that Kobu pressure and the fact that it is all around better for most MUs.

most definitely.. Kobu is her best variation.. I started out playing pyro as well ... and I still play it a lot...I have the most fun with pyro. you don't even need to put any combo together with that variation. just stick with the basics.

A list need more stamina for pressure.... SD pressure n1 + big combo...
Alist can have double cancels such as f3/s4 rc f3 rc f24/f3 and you can hitconfirm the f24 and do a 26% meterless bnb or 33% with carry or you can do ex forceballs on block to regain a bit of stamina. Alist has good damage in the corner as well 42% for a bar is nice or 37% meterless with guaranteed chip. Stunt double isn't far off from alist imo though
