NRS do a good job on getting people interested in their games. I guess they have a good marketing department. But damn it...a good netcode actually means further retention and they can pump out more DLC if they want and people would buy it. There's more money in selling a game at $60 every year or so though apparently.I already have.
I'm reading the KP2 threading laughing. Garbage patches on incomplete characters, some get uber buffed while others twiddle their thumbs, unplayable 15f delay Netcode, BUT WAIT, BUY MORE CHARACTERS. Nah man, I'm not spending a dime and will not buy their next installment unless I hear from credible people I trust that the online is legit. MKX experience soured me and now they'll need to prove that they caught up to the rest of the industry next game.
Dude, I still don't own the game nor next gen. I KNEW this game was going to be a steaming pile of poop due to my past experiences. Saved myself some money there...I guess I have an excuse to get next gen now as the new MGS came out but outside of FGs...that's about all I play.
This right here man. Someone had a status asking if 8 Kharacters and uneven costume distribution (Jacqui lol) is worth a full game. Compared NRS business model to the one Capcom had for SF4. I just brought up Tekken and Namco's free everything. Free patchces, free characters, free customization (emblem creator dlc anyone?). Only reason I got DLC for MK is cause you can get shit for cheap on PC.
Anyone who only plays NRS fighters I feel a little sorry for. If you're a fan of fighting games you owe it to yourself to get at least one game that plays great online, has a community and doesn't have crazy "dirt" like it's a marvel game.
Yea I can't get into the DLC thing at all. Like buying "skins"? Really? I'm used to unlocking points through gameplay and customizing my character with 500 items to choose from lmao! How you gonna tell me buy an outfit when I can pick my own hair style/color, shirts, pants, color of clothes, accessories, etc for my character in other games? I despise the DLC model some of these game have.
Yeah, SF4 even is tolerable over wifi...I'm in so cal so in theory, I COULD play offline but so cal is also a pain in the ass. Gotta drive everywhere, fight with traffic, and nothing is really centralized. The NYC guys are pretty lucky. LA is damn near as expensive and you've gotta drive here...public transportation is shit here. No choice. I don't want to drive to places like Ontario. Everything is 20+ miles away which is an hour in traffic typically.
By community I just meant a healthy online scene. But if you're in socal I would def go through whatever to attend some events. I'm EC and once I get my funds up and school is taken care of I plan on going to a major or two. Managed to get a friend to get interested too!!!
I just honestly don't have the time/desire to drive all over the place. Then I've gotta drive back. LA traffic is real life NRS lag...it's bad. haha
Same. I'm fighting back with my wallet. It's almost criminal that they released an unfinished game with no online playability and charged us full price for it. Then it becomes insulting when they transform into Mimes when asked about Netcode playability or bugs in the game, but then morph into John Cena when it's time to talk about character changes or DLC. I know some others will just blindly buy but I won't contribute to that when other companies are doing the same thing but a lot better.
All the times I've thought of learning stick button never went through with it, now I'm paying for it...
Try it now lol. Tekken and SF are really good games to practice it on. Certain characters play better on stick too. Like I know you use Julia, her stuff comes out a lot easier on a stick. I've got an extra stick, a Hori one if you want to borrow it for a while to practice?
Thanks so much for that offer Salt. I own a brand new TE [360], that's where I played Tekken. Never owned a PS3 or I would of played there. I did play with a converter and a PS1 pad though. I'm a pad warrior for life! I do agree with certain things being easier on stick though.
Yea that's the stick I use for PS3 too lol. It's really good. Tekken can play on pad pretty well. SF I need to use a stick though because I can't do the 6 button thing with a pad.
I also cannot do the 6 button thing with the bumpers on a pad. Got my HORI FC4 ready for SFV.
Yea that sounds good. It'll be easier for you to get more exp with the game like that too. Just be warned, once you play T7 and go home to turn on MKX, life will never be the same again lol.
