Brook ''XBox One to PS4'' controller adapter

Ever since the PS4 had been chosen as the official console for fighting game tournaments, Xbox One only owners had to find ways to practice with a controller of a console they didn't own. They were left with 2 options, either dual mod their arcade sticks if they were lucky enough to play on those instead of a Pad or use a device like the Titan One. The first option was pricey if you didn't know how to do it yourself and the 2nd one is unreliable. To this day, devices such as the CronusMax and Titan One still have no ways to overcome the 8 minute timeout issue. Plus, they both require a DualShock 4 to function.

Brook Accessory has been making a name for itself the past few months with a line of quality converters. Most recently, I have reviewed their PS2 to PS4 controller adapter, which still works great. I have just been sent a Xbox One to PS4 controller adapter.

How does it work? Simple, you plug your Xbox One controller to the adapter using a micro USB cable and the adapter into a USB port of the PS4. That's all it takes. All the buttons function like they should, including Share and Option. Pressing the L3 and R3 simultaneously emulates the touchpad. The adapter even supports vibration. I tested it out with various types of games for a few days and didn't run into any issues, there was no noticeable lag or re-authentication needed after 8 minutes. I must point out that the controller only works wired. This adapter might just be tournament eligible because it doesn't allow you to program macros.

I'd recommend this adapter to all Xbox One only owners who don't feel like spending extra money for a DualShock 4 and having to carry it around. You also don't have to worry about your buttons not responding mid match due to the 8 minute re-authentication requirement.

C-Sword pass me the converter so I can test it with a few xbone controllers.
I tested it with the following controllers:
- Xbox One Official Pad
- Mad Catz TE2
- Horipad

It works on all 3 pads. I compared the lag with an official PS4 pad and I did not see any difference and you don't have the same flaw as the Titan One / CronusMax (8 mins re-authorization). As for tournament legalities, you will need to ask your TO.

FYI, I just saw in another thread that Brook is making a 360/Xbone -> PS4 adapter. That might be a more attractive option than this one. Most of us have 360 controllers since Injustice was mostly played on 360.

Is XBOne controller any like XB306? Coz I wonder how can anyone play fighters with that pad

Does this work straight out of the box unlike the CM where you have to program shit on the computer? Missing drivers or some shit left me with an unusable CM, lol. Anyway, interested in this if it works straight out of the package, let me know. Thanks fellas.

Out of the box, plug and play, I'd suggest using a USB extension cable though

Actually, he was suggesting him a PS2 to XBox One adapter made by a company called X-Arcade Gaming.
Question is the grey convertor you posted in the other forum made by brooks? I normally try the ones people let me test at events. If it feels good I'll try one for myself if you got a link.

One more quick question if anyone knows. Can I just leave the set up you suggested infinitely plugged in throughout power downs, or does it require re inserting the converter each time the console is turned on?
