Breakthrough - Lasher Lasher Situational 39% Meterless Corner Damage

So I was playing online and recorded a few instances where I netted 39% meterless damage in the corner. Basically if only the last hit of F12+4 connects and is cancelled into whip strike, juggling with 112 whip strike does 39% damage. So far I've only seen it happen on medium size male hitboxes (i.e. Ermac, Liu Kang, Kung Lao) but i'm planning on doing further testing to see if it works on the whole cast or not, and if it can be done off of F122+4

Edit: F122+4 works as well, and against females this will only do 33%, but cancelling the 112 into whip assault will do 34% vs females.

Works against Jax.

Does 38% on Goro.

Does 35% on Ferra Torr

Does full damage on all male characters besides Goro and Ferra Torr.

I rather like this, if you work this into a rotation you can definitely get some set-up on an opponent by making them choose between blocking and taking say... a stall kunai or a grab, or eating it and taking that beefy damage.

Possible anywhere or just the corner?

Just in the corner, the idea is to juggle with 112 high enough so that both hits of whip strike connect.

I just tested f122+4 and it DOES work off this string as well, but only off of the last hit of 2+4.

Original post updated with some notes. As you may know theres a gap between the last 2 hits of F12+4 and F122+4. If the opponent crouch blocks the first hit of 2+4 they can armor out of the last hit...however if the first hit is cancelled into whip trip this will catch them trying to armor out as it covers the gap, and that can be meter burned into a 36% damage combo. Whip strike is -21 on block so if you dial in the combo and your whip strike is blocked they can full combo punish. If you cancel into close kunai and they don't armor out your either +2 from it being blocked or +20 on hit back into a 50/50.

He can do really good corner damage for no meter at all or over 40% with whip flurry. His mid screen meterless damage is weak but he seems pretty good at carrying people into the corner and has lots of 50/50 potential.

Good stuff, how long have you been using takeda? Buff rumors?
My lasher is like day 4 at this point, been using him for about a week. Started off with the ultimate takeda guide and Shirai Ryu.

my god... someone sees what i see in lasher... and has learning lasher for roughly the same period of time.... WHAT ARE YOU AND HOW ARE YOU MIRRORING MY LIFE?!?!

Yeah, since his cancels into Whip Trip are true blockstrings tho. Btw it will be great if was better to juggle after one AA Whip Strike midscreen lol

Midscreen after an aa whip strike or combo ending in whip strike i throw a far kunai or sometimes yolo far tornado strike if i think they will be trying to block the kunai.

you can actually still hit this combo if all the hits in the string hits, it will just reduce the damage

This is sweet man, good find.

I was just testing it in the lab, had the dummy on stance block and ducking, f122+4 cancelled into EX whip OTGs if they just get hit by the overhead. If only EX whip strike was + only block and not -21 lmao.
