That 212 brutal so satisfying though. That's one thing I really love about ronin. Simple and sweet brutal.

Just spent the evening playing Ronin.

Although it isn't as ungodly useless as I originally thought, I personally don't see what the fuss is about. I just don't think there's a point using this over Shirai Ryu, he has to put in so much work for such little results. It can be good but most of the time you're just kinda putting in a ton of work for a situation other characters can get into with way less effort.

I dunno, probably missing something or way too new to the character. Seems like a mountain to climb making this variation decent IMO.

At the time I misunderstood what he meant at first.

And do you think buffing the low tier characters is the smarter choice vs nerfing BS Shinnok and Pred? Takeda does need a buff but air 50/50s is not the right move. If that's the case then make Ancestral KJ's air arrow overhead at both distances. That'll make him at least contend.
I think both directions need to be brought in. This is what balancing is, making sure BOTH sides are more or less equal in weight, it's practically the definition of the word. People hate to hear this because they don't want to see their new top 5 mains nerfed after they've tier hopped, but we need to both buff characters like Goro Jacqui Takeda, and tone down characters like Kung Lao, DVorah, Predator and QC in their strongest variations. I've never seen a competitive community so anti-BALANCE because not nerfing the characters sitting at a significant power level higher than the rest isn't balance, nor is bringing like 20 characters up to be on par with 5. Too much bias on these forums it's ridic.

Exactly how I felt. Character is capable, you just put in a shit ton of work to get there however and its like.... why? Theres no payoff for it.

Pretty much our delima on the nose. Add that to the fact that most don't know their characters match up vs takeda and then the plot thickens. They don't know the gaps or holes to exploit and they assume half his move set is OP yet take takeda against someone who actually knows about the match up and it's a completely different story.

Still I think the main consensus is that we would like a few things fixed before new moves. Gaps and inconsistenties are pretty much the priority first. Then next prob is between crazy start up frames (fist flurry , tornado kick) or fragile armor etc (cast wide issue) Then maybe new moves in the fall behind.

But , for the most part most are doing what they can to push him as far as possible. The few Ronin mains we have are digging for new stuff every chance they get and more of us are taking notes.
There's a few times where ronin is actually the better choice, it's just the execution and character knowledge that's holds some of us back. Like ronin would be the better choice but SR feels safer cause of less experience/not comfortable with ronin .

In time, changes or no changes, every one will start to see more ronins out there ..

This is kind of how I feel. Ronin plays MKX, he has all the tools you need but everything seems mediocre to me. There's nothing that stands out that seems really good or bad. He just takes more work.

Regarding your earlier question, I did post a guide a few weeks ago which is stickied but didn't get frontpaged (lol TYM) which is probably why 90% of TYM or the people in this thread don't know shit about the variation. Or you can ask @hayatei he is the Ronin expert. :)

I think Ronin has what it takes to compete. People need to stop with this "Takeda's bottom 2-3 so he must be shit/unviable" bullshit.

You're the reason I said no to this thread lol. I think takeda placing the sword while jumping is ok but not calling it back.

By this logic (comparing things to Hunter Predator) I say Sub-Zero should be able to produce a clone while airborne and shatter while airborne as well.

Its only fair
thats like saying because some characters have a teleport all characters should have a teleport, takeda needs this just to become viable in top tournament situations due to lack of tools. Sub zero has plenty of tools at this point, or it's atleast a different problem then with takeda.

You realize I was simply being asinine, right? Maybe I should've put one of the memes in my post so I could've been more clear.

Just ask Sonicfox to pick him up and play to his full potential , then we'll see how good ronin really is.
Yeah, but then again - most of his opponents really respect him and I've seen few cases where he was punishable, but didn't get punished due to respect / scare / not reacting on "gods bleed" situations ;D
