Well he got buffed! That's like saying I thought Kenshi was bad lol.
Well, I completely dismissed Buzzsaw in the beginning as well which really didn't change overall. I thought it just took too much execution to do the combos and deal the damage. I thought I might as well pick up another character and have the same results instead of working twice as hard.

things i was wrong about -
takeda - i thought for sure id be using lasher - nope...
i thought SR would be just as good as scorpions variations.. - wrong again
i thought jacqui would be better
i that diplacer raiden would be that dude - wrong
i thought id like erron black - nope
i thought Kotal would play/be like the season 1 thunder of MKX- wrong.
frame data would be correct
armor would work properly
people would get tired of seeing the same damn fatalities over and over again .

This thread doesn't mean much when it comes to our ability to judge the strengths of a character when SO MUCH of this game has changed since day 1. Saying shinnok was ass on day 1 was not a misjudgment.
 
Wait a minute, we were wrong because we said Inferno Scorp is too OP?? He WAS OP, we were not wrong. He was patched so that his infinite was taken out

Displacer Raiden... granted this was pre-release but a lot of people were talking a big game about how 95% of Raiden players would use it. Yeah, let's give him a variation for mobility tools in a game where almost everybody has good mobility, including his OWN other variations.

Also why are people saying they wasn't wrong about Kung Lao because of the Tempest buffs? Buzzsaw hasn't been touched, may even be his worst variation (by default) now that Hat Trick has been fleshed out some more yet F0xy still made waves with it, hell some even tried to maintain that Buzzsaw was still better than Tempest even after the buffs for a while.

Besides, I was discussing this with Ketchup, this is just a theory, but I think the way Tempest's hat spin is now was supposed to be that way from the start, and it wouldn't surprise me if the testers freaked out pre-release, took away the conversion-ability and attempted to give him the 4 frame EX spin as some shitty compensation. It's suspicious how it was changed to 7 frames when Hat Spin was buffed...

I was wrong about Netcode. I thought he would easily be a Top Tier character. Top 3 unquestionably. Even during one of the Kombat Kast they said Netcode was flawless'ing everyone in the back. I knew I would main Netcode for the entire games life pre-release.

Then the game came out, and Netcode was Bottom 2. Even characters who have been around since the Stone Age are better equipped than Netcode. I was hoping they would buff Netcode to make him viable but clearly they've made it known that he is the last of their priorities.

Hands down Netcode was the biggest shock to me and biggest disappointment. I couldn't have been more wrong about him.
I don't know man... I was just in a match against him online, came down to the final round, both of us had about 15% health. I got the HKD, knew he would wake up X-Ray with that full stick of butter he had. I advanced in to bait out his WU and blocked accordingly. Somehow he made my bait and block come out around 20 frames late and X-Rays me anyway, this motherfucker is OP as hell in my opinion. I think he's actually top 3.

That is true. It is likely that his execution requirements are way too high for me to use him effectively at a high level. Sucks because I really wanted to main him.
 
Yeah, in covert ops she does. But that doesn't mean you can't be a good Sonya player :p And just to add to what you said, her 50/50 is not very safe :rolleyes:
Fair enough. I just have a very deep hatred for Sonya. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe the character needs to be nerfed by any means, but this is personal between Sonya and myself.

I personally hate that motherfucker though. Even though he's good, I just don't like his character design.

Hell thank God he is banned at tournaments and majors. Can you imagine what Evo would have looked like if he was allowed??? People would be begging for prepatch Tanya CEO. I don't even want to think of how many top players tools he would have shut down with his OP toolset. When people talk about broken characters, no one else on the roster can hold a candle to him.

I thaught kotal kahn was god tier from that short clip before the game came out of 3 hits 48%... If only they showed the rest of the match where he gets pressured into being the size of a breadcrumb
