1. Establish to the Community that the Unbreakable variation is just as viable as the Grandmaster variation in competitive play.
Man, I can respect your enthusiasm for this character, it is something that I had once, and all the things you mentioned were the exact same things I mentioned before I had my hands on the game.
It all sounds good on paper and thats what made me excited for MKX, only Unbreakable Sub Zero, and it sounds amazing, a free chip damage denying shell, then a MB version that drops the damage, along with a parry that will grant a free combo, surly opponents will block after his strings and wait for a parry, but sadly that isn't the case.
I played him in the first build of the game in the first 3-4 weeks, but around then I realised that he wouldn't be viable as the community progressed.
The idea of Unbreakable is to Aura up, and null the opponents zoning by parrying the projectile so the opponent doesn't build anymore meter than you, so they have to attack, and if you don't spend meter on breakers and only on MB aura, the opponent will never do more damage than you even with a bar, but...
The projectile parry doesn't work as it takes the full animation to recover, which means you can be punished for a successful parry with another projectile or a bait with a run in full combo, so you can't force the opponent to break their zoning.
His parry is a 5 frame start up, meaning all of his strings are generally at around -6, -7 etc because of the Klone cancel in GM meaning anyone with an 11 frame normal can stop Sub zero even making the right read and throwing out a parry after a string, and if you are ballsy enough to use the MB Version, you can still be crossed over.
I could go on all day, considering his defence is his offence and it doesn't work that great.
Sub Zero in all Variations was completely put to bed with the addition of Predator, which has Unbreakable with his MB Stealth IN ALL VARIATIONS, whilst he can zone, along with the Damage that Cryomancer gets IN ALL VARIATIONS, and not to mention he completely sends Grand Master back to the dark ages by being able to throw out his trap in three places whilst in the air, extend combos with it, detonate it, not including an ARMOURED MB detonate, and it has advantage, IT DOESNT NOT GO AWAY ON BLOCK whilst you get jack shit for blocking an attack with GM and his Shatter gains no advantage.
I could go on, but I think il stop myself, and honestly, I can't see anyone at NRS fixing Sub Zero.
