General/Other - Takeda Moving Forward With Takeda

Seriously. Why does B2 move him so far forward?

I consider Takeda (Shirai/Lasher) to be a "zoning" focused characters. He utilizes far reaching moves (not THAT far) that keeps his opponents at bay (poorly).

B2's ass startup, Takeda's inability to stop acting like a Toyota, the speed of runs, and the fact that B2 (a gigantic overhead swing) barely grazes Verne Troyer's eyebrows, creates really bad situations when you try to play Takeda CORRECTLY.

If Takeda was stationary during B2, a lot of silly issues would be somewhat resolved.
If this isn't adjusted, then I demand that the following changes be made:
-Kenshi takes a hop foward before performing BF3 and it doesn't go fullscreen
-Kitana's air fans pull her foward and don't go fullscreen
-Kano's knives are increased to 18 frame startup and they don't go fullscreen
-Predator is just completely removed
-Scorpion's spear is launched out of his knees and it doesn't go fullscreen
-Tanya's fireballs have 37 frames of recovery and don't go fullscreen

Or just ignore Takeda some more. That's cool too.

Yes this has pissed me off since day 1 but only in SR and Lasker.. I don't have this problem using Ronin or maybe it's the timing?

I know how to 'fix' (he's not broken or anything, I mean just make him a lot better perhaps) Takeda I think... NRS could give him a DD1 move where he puts away the whips and has access to use his fists and be more of a standard Shirai Ryu ninja which are naturally a lot faster but shorter ranged so that if he's in that mode, he can punish or get out of pressure etc. The hard part of learning how to play with this is knowing when to switch. It's practically just not possible to happen but it's fun to think about these little impractical solutions haha :)

Man... That'd be super interesting.

I Have A Plan...Attack
I feel us Takeda mains ( No shame here.....maybe a little) need ALOT of patience when utilizing his various (or lack of) BnBs and MB moves. It does get frustrating but I feel sticking with Takeda will payoff.....eventually

RULES OF NATURE!
Alright guys we NEED to make something! Takeda needs several fixes, im not asking for stupid Shinnok and Kitana buffs, just fixes like the hitbox, some recovery, gaps and the armor. I lost count of how many times i tried to use armor and get bodied with just one hit.

Fuck these "fix" posts. Takeda needs a straight up buffs.

  • Reduce some of his recovery frames
  • Reduce some start up frames
  • Change his whip hitboxes so they hit people in the air
  • Make his EX move's armor more consistent
He'll still suck, maybe as much as his father before the patches, but at least he'll change with the patches like every single other kombatant.

almost moderate success
I honestly like how it moves forward. It's probly just because my playstyle it's more centered around keeping opponents standing and hitting then with b2, kunai, and b3 kunai setups. It helps put you in range for a b3. If it didn't move forward, would your opponent even be in range of a b3 after b2,1 kunai stuff?

You're probably right. This thread wasn't entirely serious. It just seems a bit counter intuitive considering he is meant to keep people out.
