Easiest / Most Difficult Characters to Learn

Before MKX came out, I was most excited to play Cassie (after Kitana of course!). When I finally tried her, I found her extremely difficult and gave up. I was just giving her another try then, and while I was marginally better, I was still struggling. Which leads me to my question... what characters do you feel have the hardest learning curve and which do you feel is the most easy to pick up???

Just go for the most fun...Ravenous Mileena. By far the most fun combos, with her Ex U3, air sais, pounces, and bite extends. Really a fun character, low tier(?) or not. Also, on an unrelated note....do you have pads?

Yeah I use the XBone pads.

Mileena is great and has been my #2... though I am in the Piercing camp :)

I am a Kitana player... I don't care about tiers hehe

I am going for Tanya now... not because she is good... but because I have been waiting 10 years for her lol

Kung Jin's pretty simple. Really easy to convert into the same combo off of almost anything, and not hard to keep good spacing due to his great range. I've heard a lot of players say he's a great place for beginners to start. Ancestral seems a little more complicated to play effectively though.

I think if it weren't for the run combos, Cassie wouldn't be giving people so much trouble. Having to worry about the run can really mess with the execution since it's constantly on your mind. The good thing is most of them are all universal combos, at least the midscreen ones. They just have different enders, so it's not hard switching b/w variations. You might get frustrated trying to pull the run combos off online though. I know players who use "dumbed-down" versions just for online play to keep consistent damage.

Also, it's tempting to play her super unsafe and just throw out b12 getaway flip like it's whatever since it can seem tough for people to punish and there's really no other starter with that much range, but once your opponent figures it out, you'll get wrecked. I think the biggest thing about being a good Cassie player is learning to play safe (b212d+1+2 is a great hit confirmable starter), and then you'll be pretty solid. She's an amazing character that is definitely worth learning, so if your only misgivings are the learning curve, stick with her!

Easiest is Scorpion by design.
Most difficult could possibly be D'Vorah Swarm Queen because of execution, and no one else is really difficult in terms of execution, but I'd say Hat Trick Lao takes some learning.

Your hole is mine!
A-List Johnny is the hardest execution wise who I've learned cause of how much he relies on his cancels. Also, Summoner Quan is relatively easy to pick up and play vs easier opponents but very difficult to truly master due to having an extra button, stance switch, and having no decent armor so you're forced to just block people like Sonya and Erron Black's 50/50s and ridiculous pressure instead of armoring out. On the plus side of Quan though, every time he catches you he has his own ridiculous pressure and 50/50s so its all good.

Bojustu Kung Jin is definitely an easy character to learn even after the damage nerf. Great spacing, easy execution and still good damage off almost any hit.

Any variation of Johnny Cage for me, I still don't consider myself "good" with him even though I have tried picking him up multiple times lol

Gimmick stolen by Jordan Peele
Easy:
Kung Jin (Bojutsu)
Sub Zero (Any)
D'Vorah (Venomous)
Liu Kang (Flame Fist)
Ferra/Torr (Vicious)
Johnny Cage (Fisticuffs)

Hard:
Jax (Heavy Weapons/Tedious reasons)
Jacqui (Tedious reasons alone)
Raiden (Thunder God)
Takeda (Ronin)
Erron Black (Marksman)
Scorpion (Hellfire)
Quan Chi (Summoner)

Im surprised no one has said balanced kenshi for easiest,

and kenjutsu kenshi for hardest
Balanced kenshi has pretty limited options though, as opposed to the other characters listed as easy. Don't get me wrong, he's a good character with simple combos and zoning but once you play against a patient player who respects the armor, you really have to outsmart the opponent and that's not easy.
