Breakthrough - Jacqui Briggs What the 7% damage increase on bf2(ex) means for Jacqui Briggs

Well, probably you're right. But there are obviously some things about Jacqui that don't make sense. Like that last hit of f121 only coming out on hit - why use the string if f12 is easily hitconfirmable? Or exbf2 being absolutely useless. Jacqui has a lot of tools to work with but she just feels ... incomplete. To the point that whatever it is that you like to do in fighting games there's a character that does it better than her.
On topic, I don't think she needs an armored starter in exbf2, her damage is too high.
Incomplete? How so? Ahhh you mean as in she doesnt feel as complete as the characters who are too strong? Yes, she does feel incomplete next to them because of, as i said, the fact that those characters are too strong.

The last hit of F121 coming out on block is reasonable. I also don't think ex bf2 is useless as it now does 16%.
 
We don't necessarily want it to launch for combo, we want it to be useable in some way. If it was safe, that's suffice.

Also even funnier is that f121 hits overhead and has block advantage listed, but again only comes out on hit. Seems like an obvious glitch.
The nature of full atuo in most matches makes me say no way ex bf2 should be safe. You guys want a safe armor move that does 16%? She'll get up for free lol.
 
I agree, she doesn't need safe armor. It's just the fact that exbf4 does the same that exbf2 does, but 1% better.

You guys want buffs to compete with the top tier. The top tier are too strong and the answer isnt to make Jaqui, F/T, Goro, etc too strong as well so they can fight the top. You do that and then you'll have Jacqui, F/T, and Goro beating the crap out of the mid tiers which doesnt solve anything.

Normalize the top tiers and everything will be fine. Its not that you guys need buffs, the common pick top tiers need normalizing.
Actually, the game would be horrible if everybody played more like Jacqui. There would be even less anti-airs than you see now. People would just be jumping around like idiots. Every character would have unsafe specials but nobody would punish them because everybody has T-Rex arms and can't reach. Nobody would ever wakeup because they know they will get blown up every time for doing so.

I agree the top tiers need normalizing though. However, Jacqui need buffs as well to be closer to them.

It is but much less for ex versions: you do them for armor anyways. And at 16f for exbf4 and 23f for exbf2 they both are getting stuffed by pretty much the same moves. So it is still unclear to me why they both exist in the move list.
You guys want a safe way out of situations and on wake up. Come on..
I really don't. I just don't see the developers' idea behind putting two similar ex moves in Jacqui's moveset.

-2 might be wrong though: I've just put dummy on "jump" and I jumped first. Is this still a correct way to test this? And would you personally use exbf2 now?

exBF2 can be used to finish game ( or armor something ), if enemy out of range exDF4.
it's like f3 and f4 ( same moves at first sight )

Don't know why Tom, you keep focusing on the ONE out of several BUFFS I've mentioned for Ms. Briggs. Paulo is a smart individual. If that particular BUFF seemed imbalanced or OP it would be overlooked, no prob. [can still be baited, and severely punished on whiff, with a spaced backdash or NJP. 30+ frames of recovery]

There are several other slight frame adjustments suggested in that thread that would not be OP in the slightest. And while I thoroughly agree with normalizing the top tiers... That's still not gonna get all the people who dropped Jacqui due to her weaknesses to decide to pic her up and play her.

"Oh 5h!t, Kung lao can't lock me down anymore. Now, let me pick Jacqui and whiff S1 or D3 into me being full combo punished after being slightly pushed back from a previously blocked move, I'll show him now"

Let's focus on the one's you find reasonable then... no?

Yeah, despite some slight range and advantage differences, in the end, EX bf2 is still much similar in use with EX bf4, with less damage and not being able to end combos in several cases.

Perhaps if EX bf2 was a command grab? As the animation itself suggests... That would make its properties very different, could catch people blocking, and since it is a move that has no follow-ups it would not be OP

Naw, she doesn't need a command grab, she doesn't need that added layer of mixup.

Also, at 23 frames you're not really gonna catch many people offline who are looking for it.

We're just gonna have to hold this shit. As PandaManee said, at least it has that one single use where exBF4 will whiff...essentially, I've given up...she is what she is.

I think we should all just hold out and only ask for a better Stanky Leg command and some meter on an absorb...the last patch shows we aren't getting anything more than that. I continue to assert that SG really needs those plus frames on DF2...FA is (just about) good enough that we can make it work, and despite the potential, HT is probably not worth it. Based on what seems to be happening to RC characters, all I wanted was a way to retain charges and one more way to build them (BF1 seemed fair!) but if not, lost cause.
