General/Other - Tanya Tanya SHOULD be normalized.

What do you think about the normalizations?

You know what? Fuck it, all of my chars keep getting nerfed while this dumb bitch stays the same. I will hit the lab with her just in case she doesn't get touched.

I dunno about you guys but I think the level of mobility that Tanya has now needs to be toned down... maybe tying some of her teleports to stamina could fix the issue.

How can anyone look at the properties of her teleport and say with a straight face that it doesn't need to be nerfed?
Ugh...here we go.
@General M2Dave

She should lose all invincibility frames in her teleport.

Absolutley not to "tying her teleport to stamina"...that would paralyze her and the rest of the top tiers would sigh in relief.

The invincibility just needs to go. The rest of her stuff is cool. Yes, the teleport is punishable, but realistically, because of the different timings you can apply, this is only part of the situation. She can instant air it and basically turn it into an invincible dash and forces you to have to scout it just to have any presence of mind in dealing with it. Meanwhile, she has her fixed f2 that now hits both hits consistently, teleport cancels, a wakeup defense that is literally a 50/50 block for her opponent, and that's not getting into the variation-specific aspects.

I think the character, other than the teleport being invincible, is not that unbearable.

It just seems like she doesn't fit into the design of the game. It seemed pretty obvious that Paulo wanted this to be a rushdown, in your face, type of game and it just seems like she doesn't have to follow those rules with her teleport. It's honestly not even hype to look at it when she's at such a huge advantage in a lot of match ups.

She probably has advantage in every matchup...maybe Kung Lao can go 5-5 but I don't see how any other character can go even with her.

Most humble shit talker ever!!!
I think the most annoying thing about her is you work really hard and knock her down its her wake up optiones. It actually feels like she's more at advantage at least psychological advantage when it should be the other way around.

Look at Quan,When he has space control he dictates the whole stage, but soon as you work to get in and knock him down YOU are rewarded Quan needs to work just as hard to get out.

IDK we see how she progresses

I don't understand how some of u can defend tanya teleporting around for free with invincibility frames while DISPLACER RAIDEN still has to use stamina for his defensive tele's on top of the recovery.

Pyromancer covers the whole screen with her fireballs in the air and on the ground while still having her teleport to runaway and fireball your ass when u try to catch her in the air.

Well well well. Look who ( @General M2Dave ) is admitting they are wrong about Tanya.

I said fireballs need to be nerfed, but I should've specifically called out teleport. I also called her dumb as fuck, had way too many options, and one of the worst designed fighting characters in history. You tell me I'm a scrub, everyone agrees with you, and my thread gets locked.

Now there are 4 Tanya in top 8. Sonic and reo are both playing her scrubmancer version and dominating.

Now you are saying she needs nerfs. Just another day on TYM. @SaltShaker is this your coming out party too? Or are you still complaining about raiden?

This is amazing. I guess you're not as good at looking forward as you are calling people scrubs and fools.

Whether you think Tanya is balanced or not, this many Tanya's in top 8 in a massive major shows it was way too early to let this character compete in a major tournament.

If people want to say "oh, people will adapt eventually", fine. But don't let her completely wreck a major before then.

Should have been a month moratorium, especially given NRS's rep for DLC

Just leave her how she is but make it that she can't be used at any tournaments, as a casual player, I didn't pay good money for NRS to release a character that looks & plays amazing just to have her nerfed a few weeks later. The same goes for Predator,Tremor & whoever else they release.

Scoot Magee

But I didn't want to dash
So much for the argument of patching the game before a tournament so that it looks good lol. Maybe if they didn't nerf the shit out of a bunch of characters they could compete. I honestly don't know enough about tanya to comment on her though.

No.

The character is new and getting away with bs that people will have answers for because it's only been a few weeks. Remember the first few months of Injustice when "Green Lantern is OP. He's Top 5 and needs a nerf to balance the game"? Remember? How'd that story end?

When you throw in a good character this early they can appear stronger than what they really are. If she wasn't a DLC everyone would have it down by now. Imagine if someone like Kung Jin or Erron Black or Raiden were the dlc. It would be the same.

Yes the teleport could use less invincibility and a couple of frames adjusted, but that's it. You spew madness about her fireballs being OP even though they don't have the fastest start up and are negative 1 billion on block. About her specials even though when you block them you're negative 1 billion for full combo punishes. Etc.

She's good. But people are massively overreacting because time hasn't caught up with players learning the MU yet.

The thing is, Kobu Jutsu, actually allows her to rushdown big time as well, and even outside that variation, her teleport makes her an scary rushdown character to some extent, she moves as she will, really fast, no stamina needed.

It's for me the only character that is not fun to watch, i wouldn't even be saying anything if she was banned at EVO, but since she is allowed, i cannot help but to worry about what we might see on the big screen. There is always the "people will figure it out" argument, but it can go both ways, Tanya players might figure it out as well and dominate even more.

I actually voted "not enough nerfs". I mean, I'm of the opinion that we should wait till we learn more about her to nerf her...

But where are the Tanya mains saying "maybe we shouldn't let her compete in a tournament before she's not been out a month?"

I think it's a double-standard to say:
"we shouldn't nerf her, people will figure her out eventually and she won't be dumb"
and then
"...but until then, let's still let her compete in tournaments and wreck everything before people are able to figure it out!"

Can someone really claim that she's only ridiculous because of unfamiliarity, and then say with a straight face that in spite of that, she's totally fine to include in a massive major tournament?

You can say "just adapt" but throwing a rock into a lake and expecting it to instantly grow gills is really dumb.
