Question - Commando the problem with commando kano

i been using commando for some time now and i have to say that i like how kano plays in this variation but i am getting really frustrate with me getting a high parry by mistake many time when i try to go from a crouching position to do a b1.

the problem is that in mkx you can hold down for as long as a second and if you do b1 after it the special will come out. why in the hell does the game let you hold down for so long and still give you the special move when you do b1 after it.... this is a problem specially for commando kano. it is even making me want to stop using him

are you guys having the same problem ? the only thing that is working for me is to quickly press f before pressing b but it doesn't feel right

Yeah I get that a lot too. I think the best way to do it is to return to neutral and then press b1.. seems to work for me most of the time. But yeah, when you try to do it as a quick anti-air and you get full punished for getting parry, that's never fun.

Commando kano is the most intriguing variation to me, i wish if they could just make the window much larger to cancel the ex ball so i can dash and njp consistently and im a happy guy

That is the main reason I use alternate controls (I also play on stick). I like to KNOW I'm doing my special moves. The only way to ensure that for me is to make them a deliberate motion. I come from an SF background, so it works out find for me.
Hope you guys find a balance. I know I had my issues with it.

You can use alternate controls but that will fuck up your BF inputs if you have any because you'll have to do a half circle motion instead of BF.

Also is your release check on?

Release check is off and I have absolutely no problem doing half circle motions. Street fighter background comes in handy in that regard. Low altitude air Kano balls to get over projectiles is an invaluable tool for offense.

If you got negative edge and alternative controls turned off, than make sure that your input is a clean b1. The thing is, when you're holding d, while pressing b, than release d, you get db b input, which leads to specials which require db input (i'm not sure if shortcuts should be turned on but i guess so). This tech can be used to do some specials off the crouching state, like scorpions teleport on reaction for antizoning, but in cases when you need just B or F you should avoid pressing buttons in that way.
