We are returned! Death to the False Emperor!
For whatever reasons you want: be as bias or as objective as you want, based on gameplay or content or style or marketing or none of the above or all of the above. I'm just interested to see what the consensus is on TYM

There it is...
Mk9>Mkx>Injustice

despite MK9s being broken, at the highest level it seens to me it was more skill intensive. Mkx is fun but its effectively competitive roulette.
Injustice was just garbage, no footsies, clunky broken design with clunky broken characters and clunky broken interactables.

1) Injustice (My all time favorite fighting game)

I'll repost what I posted several months ago about Injustice:

Everything from the over-the-top super moves, ridiculous interactible damage and absurd stage transitions all the way down to the monotone, serious nature of the female commentator's voice serve to make the matches feel important. I love the mechanic of universal, armored combo-launchers. I love the concept of character traits. I love the clash system - I think it's borderline genius. I love, love, love interactibles. I love the practice mode (is there a better one in the history of fighting games???) I love how (relatively) balanced Injustice is. And as a guy who never could block, I love how ridiculous every character's offense is. I love Bane. I love Killer Frost. I love The Joker. I love Injustice.

2) MKX

Brilliant game. The main reason I favor Injustice over it is because I think Injustice did a better job of incorporating a larger variety of play-styles. But, Brutalities own and this game owns.

3) MK9

The start of something special . . . but, too many problematic fighting mechanics and balance issues to compete with the other two, far more polished, competitive fighters on this list.

The games keep getting better every new game. Yeah, the 50/50's are extremely annoying, but the better players are the ones that are winning. And MKX is definitely the most fun IMO.

Anyway, MKX > Injustice > MK9

3. Mk9 - The game was fun but it felt slower than i prefer my fighting games to be. There were cool ideas and concepts, and though when I first started playing I was novice, coming back to the game it still felt lacking gameplay wise.

2. IGU - I immediately got hooked with this and it was also my fighting game gateway so it's got a special place for me. But everything felt good from combos, the interactables and most important the game felt faster then mk9. I felt like I was playing as a super hero and from all the over the top nonsense to the tournament scene it felt like the super hero fighting game I've always wanted.

1. MKX - This feels like MK9 and IGU came together. It combined the speed and fluidity from IGU with the characters and play style of MK9. The resulting product is something that I throughly enjoy. The game is still young and I expect good things considering it's lineage.

NRS, Guilty Gear, and KI, the holy trinity
I love them all equally. simple as that, after all MK9 got me into fighting games, yeah i played a couple fighting games every once in a while but MK9 was the first one i really got into.

MK 9 - game that is only fun on a casul level of play.
Injustice - flawless masterpiece with mediocre netcode.
MK X - it's cool. Could have been better + the way they hyped online play with such an interesting concept, yet they totally forgot about netcode, was very disappointing.

mk9 > mkx > igau

mk9 had my baby daddy, it's not even a contest

and MKX because mortal kombat. but really i just didn't like igau at all, must be something to do with my favorite character being a shitter and the flow of the game felt shitty

So far I would say:

MK9
MKX
Injustice

But I like them all and who knows maybe MKX could take the top spot over time. MK9 is still my favorite game of all time. Injustice was a lot of fun and I played the hell out of it, but in the end I think the interactables were more of a failed experiment... WAY too powerful, and making them unblockable and OTG were really bad ideas (even after the patch where you only took half damage MBing through them).

uuum IGAU is the slowest 2D fighter ever, you can check it out.

MK9 is one of the few games that has "flow". This alone made some matches seem faster than SF4 ones and therefore more hype

To watch MK9 looked fast. When I sat down and played it every character felt like they were underwater compared to IGU. Maybe to watch IGU looked slow but the response times felt better for IGU therefore being faster.
