After the fighting community showed us a lot of interest to have several fighting competitions at the eSports Festival, we have decided to add four new competitions to our PRO Competition line-up, expanding Fifa 15 and LoL with these competitions.

Featuring a Super Smash Bros Melee (Game Cube) tournament, a Mortal Kombat X (PS4) tournament, the Game Mania Super Smash Bros 4 (Wii U) tournament and an Ultra Street Fighter 4 (XBOX 360) tournament, we will be offering the best fighting players of the Benelux (and beyond) the opportunity to showcase their talent.

The total prize pool is set at a minimum of €1,000 CASH but can rise to up to €3,200 CASH depending on the number of participants.

The prize money alone should be good to help people need an incentive to come!

I can't make any commitments to it myself however, unsure of when I'm available over the next few months.

Will let the UK community know at the very least!

@rubmytaco guess we won't be able to make it out, since the trip to paris is on the 4th afaik
I'm trying to work something out with warner at the moment. They already told me that the trip from belgium to paris wouldn't be a problem, but i'm still waiting on the specifics.

do you know if all of the players are in the same hotel/appartment?
and also, do you know, who qualified from all the other countries?

I have no idea, but i would expect them to be. Although I will probably spend the night in Brussels after eSports festival and travel to paris early on sunday.

"Vengeance will be mine!"
I'll be going to this event, and know the city of Ghent quite well.
If anyone on here is going to come to the event, and would like to meet up before the pools start, or maybe would enjoy some pointers of the nice pubs around town for once the event ends let me know.

"Vengeance will be mine!"

Went digging through the event website for the rules of the MKX event.
Please find them (including a link to the PDF) attached to my message below:

Ruleset - 'Mortal Kombat X'
GENERAL
Respect:
The most important for us is having respect for each other. With this we mean that you have to respect both your opponent and the compo admin(s). If you are behaving in an unfriendly way towards another contestant/crewmember/visitor/… you could have yourself suspended by the esports-crew or the compo admin that is in charge.

Fairplay: Whoever is proud of their hobby will show that in their game! Because of that we expect that everyone is honest and helpful to each other at all times. In honesty we mean not just fair play but also no giving out false information to the admin or your opponent.

Discipline: To make sure infinite discussions don’t happen we chose the following rule: the admin has the final say in a decision. If you feel that you have been treated in an unfair way you can always ask the head of the compo-department. You’ll be able to ask who this is from any crew member. He/she has the final say!

Entering: You are to be available during the whole competition and also keep yourself to the general rules of ESPORTSFESTIVAL.

Compo rules: The admin or the organisation can change the rules at any given time without notice. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to keep an eye on these.

1 BASIC RULES
-Round Robin group phase of 4, 5 or 6 people
-This phase consists of best of 3 matches where there's no character lock
-Only the loser can switch character between matches
-Top 2 of each poule advance to the main bracket
-Bracket is best of 5 from top 3 onwards
-Payout is 60%/30%/10% for the top3 players of the event
-In the event of a pause a round can be taken if the non-pausing player wishes to
-Turbo and external macro's are not allowed, ingame mapping is allowed.

CHECKING IN FOR FIGHTING GAMES
I've been in touch with the organization via e-mail, and you need to be checked in 30 minutes prior to the start of the Fighting game events.
As the events start at 12:00 (which is when the pools will be announced) you need to be there BEFORE 11:30.

PARKING
The parking facilities near the event area (event entrance is marked with an A) can be found on the map below:

Most interesting parking facilities
the Universitair Ziekenhuis has a parking: € 5 / day
Location: Corneel Heymanslaan

There's a bit of a walk from the parking to the event area. If you want to park at the hospital make sure you're 20+mins early.

B/C° Brico Plan-it also has an underground parking for €1 / hour
Location: Sluisweg 2, 9000 Gent

This is across the street from the event entrance. It's a bit more expensive, but a lot more convenient.

The EsportsFestival MKX Tournament organized by RSD has ended.
Congratulations to RubMyTaco with the number one spot, and to The Bizzle for an amazing set of final matches after his comeback.

Really enjoyed playing with you guys: the practice rounds, the tech talks, the hype during matches, and last but not least getting to know fellow MKX players from the BeNeLux. Thanks for a great day!
