Question - Dragons Fire Who can do iAFB?

Is there anyone who can do instant air fireballs consistently?

If yes, please answer the following:
  • What sort of controller are you using
  • What method are you using to perform the iafbs?
Thanks in advance.

I can do like two sometimes. Correct me if I am wrong but if it doesn't hit the target it goes into full recovery frames otherwise you can go directly into another iafb unlike in MK9.

Shouldn't it be kinda like Cyborg's IAFBs on Injustice? On a regular controller, Jump backwards, then press F1 really fast.

Using a ps4 pad with shortcuts on. UB, DF. It's easiest to place the bottom of your thumb on the pad and just roll it in one continuous motion. If u use pad this method is also much less strain on your thumb

You don't need to be able to do it multiple times in succession unless you're trying to do the corner combos.

As long as you can shoot a single iAFB at head level on command you have access to a really good tool for checking your opponents movement

I just input UBF like normal and it works for me (shitty ps4 pad) don't really have a trick for it

i dont really have trouble doing them i use a ps3 pad

i usually do up upback to like a half circle to forward and it always comes out

I can do them pretty consistently with the xbone pad dpad. I just input quarter circle motion (up back) then just forward 1. I can do the corner combo that requires 4 iafb's. Takes mad practice but its doable.
I have been waiting for someone to say this....I wasn't sure if it was possible on that controller. I use an xbone pad, and I can only get them out at mid air height, only headshots on the way down. I'll try this method.

Does it make you jump back, or nj?

If you do it properly it should make you nuetral jump, but if it is making you jump back just practice doing the up back motion by itself, then once you have that down start incorporating the forward 1.

See very good info in this thread. So here's my other question, has anyone ever tried it with zoning? How effective is it?

it is very good on certain match ups where they have to use run or dash to move forward.
If youre trying to check your opponent for dashing or running forward why not just use the low fireball? It has less recovery than the iafb and hits low. I think the iafb is only really useful if you think youre oppnent is gonna jump but even then if they dont end up jumping and you whiff the iafb they can close alot of space. Imo its not very effective for zoning and instead i just use it in my combos

I don't play Liu but I managed to do it VERY low to the ground. I use the XB1 stock controller pad. Same method as many described above.

Lol people are creatures of habit normally. Throw 2 low fireballs then an instant air one. Bet you 90 percent of the time it will hit online. But in all seriousness it's good for zoning I think. Not as good in duelist but still slightly useful.
