Wow yeah I totally see that. He seems very matchup specific and like he is also handicapped when facing button mashing low level players. It's so satisfying power bombing people though :/ haha.
Definitely seems like a variation that requires lots of knowledge of your opponent. I'll have to do a private match with some of you guys to work on him, practice mode isn't as useful for commando like a live match

Now im not the best commando but im going to try to stream some ranked matches later today to help us all play him better because i know i could use some pointers. Ill let u know more info later

haha, I haven't played many kano mirrors yet, but I'll still play with yall, I'm on PSN, name by my posts. Just lemme know who you are or I might not add just randy names. I just got one of those fighting commander 4 pads in so it's been weird again since I got so used to DS4, trying to decide if I like it better or not.

I don't really consider myself... "good" either but I'll try and record some matches and maybe post some better ones. Coach Steve has been rockin' some commando at NLBC though, so there is a little footage floating around.

How do u guys deal with cross overs? I tried up kano balling but it keeps whiffing. My njp keeps getting beat.

Ok so I saw someone post this tech earlier in the thread but I'm not sure how much it was explored. Basically you get an OS (-ish) after a HKD against most of the cast. If they wake up you'll beat their wake up, if they delay the wake up you are safe. They best way to get out is to allow yourself to get hit or jump the command grab.

This second video is also something that might be known but after a f33 on hit you get a hard to avoid command grab. If they start to get smart about it and try to poke you can armor it. If they start backdashing, chase them with f4. Also after a command grab you're in a good range to jump in and hit confirm your f33 into grab on block or pause grab on hit.

I think both of these are known (to me anyway lol) but its still great to have it written down like this! Thanks!!

So I think I may be getting away with bloody murder here. B13 (On hit)> slight delay > command grab seems to work for me A LOT. If they block the b13 I end up going for a MB grab to armor through the poke. I'm fairly certain they can NJ the command grab but no one is doing it.

Can't wait to test this out!

Wakeup OS (d3/d4 xx OS EX command grab) doesn't work against some reversals that parry will on opponent wakeup. So it does have a little use ;).

Also the good thing about doing d3 OS ex command grab on their wakeup, is if they delay tech, you can still meaty them without fear of a reversal, as the d3 will recover before they wake up.

Also if they take the hit after the OS, you can OS the next hit so it will essentially be a true block string.

Example: d3 xx OS EX command grab (input b31). On block you get d3 into command grab, on hit you get d3, b31. This is because the command grab animation eats the b31 input.

That's why I included those that work lol

A good way to set up that OS @MsMiharo was talking about is doing the 321+3 string because it ends in a hdk. Itll obviously do a little less damage overall (2% ish iirc) but itll make them scared to wake up then u can pressure them with b31 delayed command throw on hit or block

Also works after your regular grabs. I kinda wish he could EX his 321+3 string for a popup though, he doesn't really have any juggles.

If b31 hits you should go for cancel into ex ball then njP combo. If you end nj.p combo with command grab you get hard knockdown and much more damage.

I think only use the 321+3 string if you want the side switch off a ground combo.. other than that I don't think its too useful
