I play Relentless too, so I feel your pain. Remember, after a Lake Mist he has cool down on that special, so you can do teleport (non-ex) into db2f2 and you wont get the second Lake Mist. Also, I learned something crucial from watching @Khaotic_Armor at EGP last week. After a ji2 or ji1, you can buffer a b1 and then you have way more time to press dbf2, so you can get the tick throw any time you make them block a jip. It's works like 95% of the time because they are jailed into blocking high after the jump in so none of that b1 whiffing stuff. It's sort of a game changer for Relentless/Unstoppable.

Edit: jip b2 dbf2 is also much easier due to the buffer window.

The buffer after the ji is good, but I've got you something sweeter. Tried it yesterday on casuals and left happy about it. At first I didn't know where to use 24~dbf2 and then I tested the ji jail thing and it worked. What's the fuss? It's the only 2 hit tick throw Jason has and ji is the only situation you can hit confirm, plus leads to a combo.

Now I'm trying to rip b1 off my head after ji.
I know that I overreact in this, but I don't understand why they haven't mentioned it yet. 24 should be on streams since day 1

Also this thread was made to explain new uses for b1 dbf2, which was just discovered as a tick throw, but no one went further then that with it.

Your thread is a good quick reference for Jason's tick throws. It should probably be stickied, like a combo thread would. This thread is more of an in depth discussion focused on setting up B1~TS and has evolved into jailing into tick throws. Both are needed, imo. Sometimes, new threads incite new ideas. Cheers!

I'm thinking of specifically remapping my controller's buttons to make it similar to a Hitbox just for Relentless Jason. It will definitely take some getting used to, but being able to use the shoulder buttons and such as directional inputs would make command grab inputs infinitely easier to use.

Yes, 24~TS is really good off the jump in as well. So is standing 1~TS.

Another use for 24~TS is in the corner after activating armor. So you do your b122, run b122, 111~dd4 and as they wake up you trap them in the corner with 24~dbf2. You can do a 11, or b12 first so you can time the debuff better. But it's very hard for them to jump out of any of those strings, and you might catch them trying to low profile or otherwise escape.

Indeed the armor helps high hits in corner, I don't use it much though, only when opponent's healthbar is around 15% and mine is 20%+

Ji to 1 is good if one is able to hit confirm, because (without having tested) I believe on hit the TS gets punished

Yes 1~TS can be punished if the 1 hits. They would actually have to start punishing you after they just got hit by standing 1, which is very unintuitive for somebody to start pushing buttons when just being hit. It's a risk for them because you might just be going into 111 pressure.

I've already tested this a while ago and a good chunk just isn't accurate.

Edit. I also don't see how you get a guaranteed b1 check on knockdown. There's armor, delayed wakeups and the fact is doesn't work on a massive chunk of the cast if they just duck.

This thread is about new uses for the b1 tick throw. Yes b1 whiffs on some characters, but not everybody.

I've already tested this a while ago and a good chunk just isn't accurate.
You: "I'm gonna test this out for like 30 seconds." Realizes only takeda, ferra torr, quan chi, and kung jin can neutral jump punch b1 dbf2: "DERP! This doesn't work! Even though this works on 20 other characters. Doh!"
I may be wrong with b1 not whiffing but the rest I have been testing for hours and I will upload a video of it real soon.
