I don't like this throw system ,ive never been able to tech on reaction cuz im blocking and don't see any sense in having to release block , and leav ur self open to any attacks, in order to tech throws . Releasing block and trying to tech takes waay too long online. Jump in into throw is super effective cuz who in their right mind releases block after a jump in? But some people claimed they have no problem with the 50/50 throw gambling and the short window to tech. Ive only been able to tech throws preemptively or When I was mashing a attack.

Probably too easy to tech if you could hold block. Just let go of block and punch f**k outta that pad >.<

Edit: 60% sounds about right for me

I would say that I have done it twice out of the many many hours I have played this game... FUCK TECHING THROWS! Buuut it does help me get a lot of free damage soooo it is a double edged sword

so u rather eat a 30%+ combo from a mid or Overhead if u guessed wrong instead of the 13% from a throw?
when I'm online I often can't tech on reaction unless the connection is green. Yellow has about 12 frames of lag.

So basically, I have to press the button to tech the throw early, which means if i guess wrong on a tech throw I often get combo'd for 30% anyway...

He's right, you're better off just neutral ducking, if you want to tech a throw you HAVE to unblock.
So teching is actually pointless if you have the read.
It's more or less just a show off mechanic I guess.
Glad I'm making a good decision, but I honestly forgot I even had to unblock :p

But I don't see how this is much different at least from when I was playing KI. You could tech throws, but it was pretty much always preferable to just neutral jump though. You could never be thrown while holding up, and throws had a ton of recovery so they could often be punished with the jump.

In MK it's just a neutral duck as opposed to jump

But can you tech on reaction?

@colt could you tell us how many frames you have to tech please?

I guess teaching a throw on read is a safer option than ducking just in case they don't throw you

No because you have to unblock either way, thats the purpose of throws in this game, means that characters can technically open you up with just throws and mid attacks.
I thought it being a 50/50 would of done that job

I guess that's more to cut down the read factor
