MKX isn't about his good you are, it's about how many views and followers you can get. :DOGE

I know that when I'm older & if I ever stop competing, I'd be much happier with my tournament record than somethin like 'number of likes' which is a very fake sort of measurement.

But that's just me, I'm not engulfed by this new age social media bullshit and still recognise things that actually deserve credit.

People will always remember PLs back to back evo wins, even though he dropped off and hasn't won or placed as frequently in cutthroat competitiob since 2012.

But who will remember true talent, and if they do, for what reason?
Okay you're not wrong, but nobody is belittling or discrediting PL's achievements? For him to essentially try something new (i.e. streaming), fail at it for various reasons, and then basically insult or undermine people who have put in just as much if not more effort than him is totally ridiculous, and only makes him look like a complete prick. Who the hell is he to criticize other streamers just because he isn't doing as well as they are?

All of what you mentioned is nothing new in regards to PL's behavior.

It has begun
Lol, that part in his message about how he's afraid to show things on stream cause they'll get patched out. Way to step into the role of the victim. He's presenting that as if NRS was out to get him - MK9 Kung Lao and Injustice Scorpion couldn't possibly just be deserving of their nerfs, could they? Putting aside the fact that Kung Lao was still a top tier character by the end of the game's life.

I've tried so hard to like this guy and what he does, but it's shit like this that makes it clear what type of person he is. It's not even about him hating to stream, just the complaining and the whining seems to know no end.

Pick up & kill it & kill it & kill it!
Some of you just like witchhunting & never even met the guy in person. So I wouldn't expect people to know or even care & just go by what you're seeing online & public opinion. You just like catching him in the right moments & haven't actually seen how cool he really is or he can really be. Same goes for others like CDjr, Justin Wong, Sonic Fox, Tom Brady, Pig of the Hut, REO & so on to make them look bad. Am I saying that they are allowed special privileges? No, I'm saying that they're human, too just like we are & are allowed to make mistakes. Just because they're on a higher skill level doesn't mean that they're not human. People get away from that fact & think of themselves as a person of freedom of speech while they shouldn't have any say at all. It can be the other way around, too.

I don't always approve or agree with them, nor do I try to shit on them or take their heads off for what they always say or do negative. It's like the media that writes bad articles on a celebrity to tarnish their reputation: People like making an enemy for the wrong reason. I've met these guys. All of them except for REO offline. If they all retaliated to people in this thread right now, I bet you the majority of TYM would call them all kinds of names & then if they fire back at you, you would play victim, as if you did nothing for them to say something back. This is how stuff gets started.

Like some of you get mad & rage & then you get recorded, right? You post pictures of the hatemail you get a lot, right? To get a kick out of people. Yet, you get pissed when people laugh at you & you get passed around like a hot potato for being the internet's joke. Think about that when you record all of them caught up in bad moments to make them look bad. It's no different.

However, I do see why people would think of him to come off the way that he does. I don't agree with what he posted, either, but it's really none of my business, so I didn't pay it any mind like everyone else did. I thought it came off as uncool & unnecessary, but I still didn't post about it to anyone because all it would do is rile up a bashing campaign & then rally which side that you on. It probably won't mean anything to people here, but he did make a note of apology. Like I said, I'm not defending him, or any other Top player. I'm just stating the fact that they're human, too & people need to stop trying to capitalize of his other people's negative/unpopular moves. It makes you look just as bad because you're just being a hypocrite as I stated about the 4th paragraph regarding hatemail & being caught in the acts.

The thing is it's not about the likes or follows, it's about the money. Those guys who "pander" to their stream viewers make hundreds of dollars an hour just to play online and be goofy. I can't knock their hustle.

To be completely honest all of this stuff is retarted...yea I can see his frustration about truetalent and Max not puttin in the work like be did...but let's be all honest here..if truetalent and PL played a ft10 who would win..same wit max and that's what matter to me...but yea he did go a little overboard but those guys are popular because they entertain..I watch PL stream cuz I wanna learn...people watch them for entertainment...I don't agree wit his rant...everybody personality is different...now if max and truetalent opened everybody who watch their streams to the fgc and actually challenged their viewers to learn the game..visit tym and learn about fighting games..they be the real mvp!!!

Last I get so sick of tech hoarding for fear someone won't have that broken edge. Way to help the game, level up, and promote the community.
This doesn't bother me. Once you use it, everyone sees it and the tech will come out naturally. But until then, I don't hate on anyone who wants to play things close to the vest. STSFN!

Viewers who actually want to be challenged...good luck finding this in today's world lol

Ya know maybe if PL
A.) Learned how to do a decent stream
B.) Used his sponsorship to promote himself & his brand
C.) Worked with those big name streamers he trashed for tips on how to get better at streaming & for tweets & hosting his stream
D.) Appreciated the fact that even if they're asking some repeated & dumb questions that he has a viewerbase

His stream might have been a better success. I mean fuck Wong was subbed to the guy & saw that original message & he shot himself in the foot by being extremely ungrateful to his subs in the same message. Then he tries to cop out with some wackass apology saying he respects all the parties invovled when he's been not subtle at all about how jealous & bitter he is about their success. And get this shit outta here about guys not being fans of MK, jsut because they didn't compete doesn't mean they aren't fans of MK. This wackass fool Carl been in Playboy & so many networks & everywhere for the shit he's done in the FGC & he still don't know how to promote himself, shit fool don't know how good he's had it.

CDjr's stream from last night was 5x as entertaining as any of the KI's stream I used to watch from Max, and he was showing some pretty neat stuff about option selects. So it IS possible to be both entertaining and informative while streaming, but I can still see where PL is coming from.

He was out of line for putting Justin in the same sentence with Max and whoever that Tru3 guy is, but other then that specific point he made about them I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Hell, some of you would still be blowing him up even if he hadn't mentioned those guys at all. I don't understand how you can just hate on another person that you've never met personally. Yeah PL does stupid shit, but you're negative feelings toward him only adds more fuel to the fire.

I don't even know how PL does it, because if I was a former two-time EVO champion for MK9 that so far has had very little success in MKX, knowing everybody will hate on me and try to blow me up no matter what I do and have a constant target placed on me, I would have cracked a long time ago.

I just want to say I did not post that podcast because I hate PL. In fact I like him a lot. I posted it because it was pretty funny.

Zyphox

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
PL's stream viewers give me a headache and I'm not even him. I don't even go to his stream that much anymore and I mod it.

He gets the SAME questions asked HUNDREDS of times a day. "What stick do you use", "Show us Kung Lao", "Are you winning EVO again?" And even worse, many people just talk about SonicFox and his stream. I'd go crazy too.
i really don't like streamers that have viewers and followers that make money off of streaming and the such complain about getting the same questions over and over again. i used to work for unitedhealthcare doing claims and sales of medicare for old people. have you ever had an Indian (from india, sorry not trying to be racist) try to communicate intricate claim details to you over the phone in a loud call center 8 hours a day? PLUS having to repeat yourself to old people trying to do an online application over the phone and their hearing aid fucks up?? i ultimately resigned to focus on school this semester but lbsh i lost my mind working there i have no sympathy for streamers who get to play video games and make money either by subs, donations or ad views.

He was out of line saying anything about anyone. Do you know how much Max puts into his stream & the same with Tru3? They put a ton of time & effort into their streams from the technical & entertainment sides of it, more work than I've seen from PL at all. Hell take a look at CDJR, he's been working hard on repping his brand & his stream is starting to pay off for it, he's getting more & more viewers each stream.

Okay quite had enough of people black balling PL. Fro starters the dude said sorry, and secondly if you actually take a look at his original statement it's leaking with frustration. He is trying to see why he isn't winning anymore. He thinks something outside of the game like streaming is stopping that. I would like to sit down and talk personally with him, and just straight up ask what is his current mental state?I Feel he is under pressure and a lot of stress. I see a talented man that wants to win but he forgotten how, not what you guys see.

P.S.

He isn't the only one that thinks that of Max's streams and I feel like Max is becoming the bandwagon fan of any hot fighter similar to how sports fan are when a current team is hot right now. Max is like your typical bandwagon Cavs fan if you ask me.

P.S.S.

Bulls are taking game 3 tonight bitches.

Yea I know right...there are some out there tho and I'm pretty sure a lot of "casuals" who just wanna do fatalitys every match will eventually wanna learn how to play the game seriously...all it takes is for people to put to put it out there..hence where truetalent and Max come in lol
Yeah. If you build it, they will come.

It's not about MKX it's about the person, people aren't watching Max for MKX they don't donate to him because of MKX, they do it because Max is likable and fun to watch same for Justin and I guess True. Isn't that shit obvious.

Or, you know, he enjoys lots of different fighting games.

Just a thought.

So....is PL pissed that more people don't watch his stream or is he overwhelmed by how many people watch his stream and dare to bother him with questions? Makes no sense. Not a good way to endear yourself to the community.

Wong has been playing a ton of MKX and his stream is awesome. Really fun to watch and he is kind and patient with everyone. And he's JUSTIN FUCKING WONG.

Max really puts some serious work into his streams. Did anyone see the full fledged fucking movie he did out of nowhere the other night? There was a cutscene in the middle of his show and Jason showed up as his house and killed everyone. Jason then grabbed the controller and played 3 matches online. It was hilarious and awesome. Shao Kahn even showed up at the end.

If people aren't watching your stream and you're as well known as PL, maybe....just maybe he's doing something wrong.

One of the dumbest analogies I've ever heard. Are we all bandwagon because we dropped MK9 and Injustice for MKX because it's the hot new game? No. It's the fucking hot new game....so everyone is playing it. Max has hundreds of thousands of followers. Why would we NOT want to expose them to our game?

Max has an obvious deep love for fighting games and that's clear. Everyone is salty because he gets tons of viewers. Maybe he seems more likable and friendly and down to earth than some of the "elite" players. Most of all...the dude has fun. I watched Chris G's stream last week and it was unbearable. All the dude did was bitch and moan about how shitty this character was and how shitty every person was that he played against.
