Also, I don't get why people are saying Balanced is good when Possessed is clearly better with a teleport, ovehead, and better damage. In fact just saw Justin Wong bodying people today on stream with Possessed.
well just went through and watched it all to look for something ive never done seen or thought of

it was all randoms and it was not as good as you said, about what i expected

I'll PM u it but just a heads up I'm not sending this to discuss it

As annoying as it sounds I don't wanna discuss it but will share
Add me to that PM please. Curious if its like my atm.

Smart man.

Back on topic... in particular what are Kenshi's worst matchups and vulnerabilities in your eyes?
Universally:

- ass normals

- lack of decent overhead starter (and no, Kenjutsu doesn't count, it needs meter and leads to very little tbh).

- -million on block on almost every special move, punishable like from 3/4 screen on block by 3/4 of the cast

- Kenjutsu is useless (needs ton of meter to do any dmg, 1 frame links, RK is bad in this variation etc..)

- Balanced is ok.... well it would be if not for like 10 other characters with better up close game, safe 50/50, vortex and run button

- Possessed while seems not bad has like ton of holes in his... and his zoning options are like -300000000 on block.TP isn't anything to write home about.

- also TF often whiffs on running enemies and has like 10000000000 frames of recovery.

Honestly it's heartbreaking.

@Pig Of The Hut

Can I get in on this PM, please? If possible, I'd also love to hear why your top is what it is. I won't "discuss" it with you or give my own views, I'm merely just curious as a beginner MK player. If not, a bare-bones list is totally fine. Just curious. Thanks.

If you like the character and enjoy playing him/her just play them. Don't quit because of other players opinion about them.

Good in this game means your character has excellent 50/50 mix ups, which is common, or excellent zoning, which is very rare. Kenshi has neither.

So what does he have that makes him "good"?
well.... he's cool.... this has to count for something right ?!....

anyways, pick the game dude, the game is great, the character is not good, but the whole experience with the game is really cool("story mode" alone worth the money)

P.S. if you're planning on getting the PC version, i'd wait a week or two....

Last time I checked good and bad were subjective terms, maybe they've changed since I last checked the ole dictionary. And Kenshi does have pretty decent zoning and mix ups. Not top tier level zoning and mix ups, but not bad either. Both high and low lead into good damage, and Balanced has a good vortex, albeit costing a bar of meter. Also what is "bad" about Kenshi's zoning? He has really good armor and AA's as Pig has shown, and not many other fighters have armor that leads into a full combo. I wouldn't put my money on him being top tier, but he's definitely better than CSZ was in MK9, and I was able to hold my own against some of the best. The fighter is viable, even if he is a bit one dimensional.

yeah that clarification helps lol Balanced Kenshi is certainly his worst variation. It apparently loses to Piercing Mileena free.
Does balanced kenshi lose the ability to crouch block? Because like.... you can turtle and just let mileena kill herself.

i havent tried kenshi, so im curious if this is true...

Is this true, I was going to get this game but keep hearing my main is really weak, which is kinda bummin me out, I know it's early but can anyone clue me in on the Kenshi situation thus far?
He can't open anyone up and he's not a zoner because his zoning is so bad. Kenjutsu is fine but 1 bar and a 3 frame link for a 20dmg vortex is not good. Then only way he does anything is if your opponent doesn't know how to block low or can't get passed terrible zoning

Didn't read the thread yet but it's ironic as I played Blackula for the first time and during a small convo (scorpion vs kenshi) he said he's switching characters because kenshi is bad in this game (I asked him which variation(s) are the best and he said they all suck) Guess this is goin around....OR all these Kenshi players are just used to how retarded he seemed in MK9 and I'm guessing he's been toned down.

He has some good tools, but I personally believe he suffers from MKX zoner syndrome. If he had some frame data adjustments he'd be viable with his current tool set, But as of now, I personally feel that his zoning is ineffective and too unsafe. All the right moves but the wrong numbers. No zoner should be 100% safe but being punished from nearly full screen for one blocked keepaway move is absurd. Remember in this game you can run and one blocked special is alot of space you lose.He needs to use these keep away specials, he doesn;t exactly have dhalsim limbs and he can get pressured easy with his poor normals speeds, unless he burns meter to armor through.

Right now in MKX judging from what little I've played it seems to me that with the run mechanic and the way the game works (breaking. meter management, fight mechanics, movement etc) , characters with unreactable highs and lows or "vortexes" will excel over the rest and the "zoners" and unsafe types will struggle the most. The thing about this game that I've began to notice is that alot of characters can't really be played to your style. It seems to me that alot of characters have to be played in a specific way to their specific gimmick/archetype.

It almost seems to me like Kenshi ermac shinnok etc don't really belong in this game.

Lets try this again, but this time explain to me how Kenshi's zoning and mix up are both worse than decent, decent obviously meaning "okay". And how 30% off of a mix up is bad damage. And correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Kenshi could combo into ex something, jump in, d1, and he had frame advantage enough to mix up into overhead, low, any variation of his fairly extensive list of options shown in Pigs original video, or just throw. Is this vortex not in the game anymore?

This time reply with a rebuttal rather than some smart ass comment without explaining yourself, so that the community can grow.
