Guide - Full Auto How to deal with Full Auto Jacqui

Doombawkz

Trust me, I'm a doctor
Some characters (Torr) can duck it neutral, block long enough to cover a MB missile after the 4th shot and still dash between gunshots.

There's someone live streaming on twitch with the title #1 jacqui, he's doing this very thing with the occasional high rocket and low rocket when his opponent's get close.

lol I was watching this streamer 'trollout' doing nothing else but shoot projectiles with Jacqui, here's his W/L record

Love all these people playing teleport characters saying this character is no problem to deal with.

Obviously. You have a full screen teleport punish into a full combo.

9 teleport characters minimum, plus a few more non teleport characters that can slide under the shots for a knockdown. That's off of the top of my head.

So basically half the cast at worst has an easy solution around it. Yet this is what people complain about of all things. -.-

I get that, for sure, but alot of people are downplaying the issues that other people are having with the matchup, suggesting that they're weak players that don't understand the matchup. As somebody who struggles with this matchup against a competent Jacqui on the regular, the tone of this presentation on how to defeat her is incredibly annoying.

It comes off as "to defeat her you simply must x, y and z. THAT'S IT GUYS, NOT THAT HARD!" When really it's so much more than that. Specific matchups require different strategies and involve different unique baits and punishes, I just digress that many players aren't taking this into consideration when downplaying the abilities of those who have issues with the matchup.

I think it's coming off like that because the majority of people complaining about Jacqui honestly just sound scrubby. They aren't practicing every option and finding ways around it, they are just getting shot a couple of times and then running to the Internet crying. When in reality there are MUCH worse things going on in this game than "Jacqui's gun", I can name like 10 things a whole lot worse, yet you hear about these guns multiple times a day.

As far as facing it, I don't feel it's that big of a deal unless you're using Kotal Kahn or something. The strong majority of the cast has options to get around it. People just aren't using the options consistently. It isn't supposed to be "easy" to get around zoning, and they've watered it down to the extreme, but when one teeny weeny little thing comes along lets nerf it above actual bs in the game. That's the part that bothers me.

People can either A) Practice and play enough to where they get around it like anything else in the game. Or B) Pick- Cassie, D'Vorah, Ermac, Erron Black, Jax, Johnny, Kano, Kenshi, Kitana, Kung Jin, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Mileena, Raiden, Reptile, Scorpion, Shinnok, Sub-Zero, or Takeda to have an easy counter to machine gun repeated shooting. That's a lot of cast members who can do more than just duck and walk.

This is why if someone is making valid complaints about something that is just ridiculous in this game, because there actually are some, it should be discussed. Jacqui's guns are not one of them.

What are some of these rediculous things that you feel SHOULD be being discussed? Surely nothing thay could be discredited as easily as Jacqui's zoning?

Jacqui's guns are just an annoyance that people can get around fairly well with more experience and most characters barring 5 or so.

Imo stuff like Scorpion getting a 39% meterless vortex combo into one wrong guess for another 39%, for 78% total, while you didn't even build up one bar for a breaker should be discussed.

Cassie having the closest thing to unblockable (because no human being that isn't part robot is blocking that setup more than 2/10) full combo setups that lead to 30-40% damage, while at the same time being plus a billion if she can't reach in time for it should be discussed.

Kung Jin Lives should be discussed.

Those are much, much bigger gameplay issues than Jacqui's overrated guns. Much bigger imo.

I have absolutely no problem with njp Jin, and I could make a thread similar to OP's oversimplifying the tech required to beat him. But I think I see your point nonetheless- a full screen spammable projectile that is difficult to advance through (but not for any decent player, amiright?)pales in comparison to blocking a mixup.

Since you didn't quote my other two examples I'm assuming you agree with those as being much worse issues.

"Njp Jin"? That's like saying "Instant Air Kabal" or "Overhead Teleport MMH". Those characters were ridiculous for their entire moveset as a whole, not one move.

I'm not sure what "good" Kung Jin players you've played, or if you play him yourself so you'd rather it stay quiet, but if you're comparing his "full toolset" as an equal complaint ground as "Jacqui's guns" I don't know what else to say man.

It saddens me that this thread had to be made. Extremely saddening. Probably moreso because it's on TYM. I mean I'd get it if this was Facebook or something but are even high level players not able to deal with this? It's honestly not that bad, I could see a point if the bullets were mid but you can duck and run cancel or walk or whatever and you'll be in in plenty of time. Complaints about it are pretty much unwarranted otherwise, especially if you're using your online experience against it as reasoning.

It's called patience guys :p

TBH I don't agree with your other examples, high damage combos leading into vortexes is nothing new for MK. When the TYM community was asked "Does a character need 50/50s to be good", the overwhelming response was "no, you are complete and total scrub for thinking that", though it certainly doesn't hurt, right? Believe it or not it is possible to block Cassie's low/highs, scorpions vortex can be armored through and you can read the overhead. What else is there to discuss?

njp Jin was really just a joke, but you may analyze it if you'd like. It was a reference to what all of the low lvl Jin players overuse. Jin's "full tool set" is everything that Kitana has, add a reactable/comboable overhead and subtract a decent zoning game (Bo variation, of course).

I main Kitana, not Kung Jin. Two of my more difficult matchups are against Full Auto Jacqui and Inferno Scorpion. People downplay my struggles in extremely frustrating ways, in the same way I just intentionally did to you above. All. The. Time. Downplaying your legitimate concerns was frustrating to read, no? TYM has had this elitist thing against the status quo's ideas of a balanced game for some time now, and anybody who agrees with the "scrubs" or wanting a change is immediately given a laundry list of reasons why they suck for suggesting it. "Your opinion sucks, here's what is ACTUALLY broken to people who ACTUALLY know how to block a projectile"- thats the vibe I've been getting lately, and its extremely ugly :(

That was my point, I had no intention to start any sort of debate, but this is fun. In response to your initial post- I do not think it is the greatest response to suggest switching characters instead of learning a difficult matchup- stating "12 characters can get around it using one move alone so you see its not a good move" doesn't really help when I don't play any of those 12 characters. Rather, it feels like you're trying to undermine the threat in my matchup and downplay my skill as a player. I wil acknowledge that these are opinion threads, and that anyone may suggest that their perceived problems are more of an issue than anybody elses.

I await your response and Eldriken's immediate likening of it :)

It is an issue. Do you seriously think in the prime of MK9, if there was one more patch everyone wouldn't have requested to nerf Cyrax 80% resets or Kabal? That MMH in Injustice wouldn't have been toned down? Of course. Not much of a difference when discussing those type of things in MKX, and that's why it'll most likely be nerfed regardless of me or anyone else bringing it up. Again, Jacqui's guns in no way whatsoever fit the category of Cyrax 80% resets like Scorpion 75-78% meterless combo for guessing wrong once does.

Bro, I don't know how else to say it, but it kinda sounds bad when you're agreeing with "the scrubs" because you have a hard time getting around a projectile. Like I named almost 3/4 of the cast that has a unique option to stop her from shooting more than two in a row. Unfortunately, you play one of the few characters who doesn't have one. It isn't like other bs where it effects the entire cast or almost everyone. This is only "more difficult than normal" for a few cast members, but even then you have options.

Kitana? Duck, throw fans, run cancel and duck. Right there you've already reached mid range and have a number of options again. You have to remember there's like 17-18 cast members that can be patient and punish her badly for shooting too many shots, half of those for full combos. There's no way she should be NERFED when she already has that disadvantage to begin with. If you prefer to only play Kitana then you can't petition for a nerf because you have a bad MU. You are choosing to play her and be stuck dealing with it the long way. I have utter hell when Sonya gets inside with Kano but I've barely said anything because I think she is strong, but not broken. Just a strong character with strong mixups. I can choose to play Kung Jin, or I can choose to play Sonya so much that I know what to do instinctively after losing 500 more times.

What I'm getting at is yea, it can suck, but have you faced a good Quan Chi or Kano? I can show you Kano personally. He's MY main character and I think his zoning is insane, much better than Jacqui's. I played a set for 2 and a half hours Friday against Summoner/Warlock Quan and was getting outzoned like it was nothing. Whooped so bad at certain points to where I had to bite my shirt in salt and rage so I wouldn't scream. Jacqui has nothing on these two in the zoning department lol. I really think you should play your Jacqui friend as much as you can and maybe even tell him "hey man keep spamming guns whenever you can" so you can condition yourself to beat it eventually, to the point where he'll think twice about shooting them. They really aren't that great once you have a gameplan to deal with them.

This made me laugh too much. Especially since me and @Eldriken were at opposite ends of the spectrum for the entire run of Injustice. So for us to agree on this we must be right. :DOGE

I agree with what you're saying. Keep in mind that I never asked for a nerf. The kitana matchup is indeed difficult and certainly possible.

My complaint is not with Jacqui, it's with the people who are immediately dismissive of those who have problems with the matchup. If the projectile reflect was able to shut down the zoning in the same way it does Kano or Quan Chi it would be a dfferent story. I'm pretty sure that we're both misinterpreting eachother, so I'm just going to concede. As a Kitana player who has trouble with the matchup, it's annoying to be told "stfu, most other characters don't have that issue. Here is the REALLY issue...."

"Jacqui has nothing on x characters....". True, for your Kano matchup. Not in my Kitana matchup. I can reflect knives and green skulls, reflecting a machine gun grants me very little damage or hit stun.

Meh.

The problem isn't high-level players.

We have lesser experienced players coming in, as well as those who struggle to understand why this stuff isn't as good as it seems. Not everyone has the understanding of these things, and if Injustice taught us anything, just saying "Do this and do that" doesn't help. Actually showing people things is what will help. These guys still don't know how to make the best of training mode, so they tend to get stuck when coming across this stuff.
