I'm a lover, not a fighter
There are always characters that we never had any intention of using that we gain a surprise interest in. For me, I was not expecting to like Ermac in MK9 having never liked him in previous games - but I ended up loving using. He ended up my second most played character (after Kitana). I started trying him out because I was having massive difficulties playing against him online and he turned out to be really fun!

So... is there any characters that you had no intention of playing or had no interest in previously that you are now using?

Oh and for me it is Lewis Kang and Reptile.

Lewis was always so boring in previous versions - pretty much the vanilla character of the game <cough Ryu>. With his new dark personality and fun looking variations, I thought I would give him more of a try and ended up really enjoying him.

Reptile was (and is) a boring character story wise, but is tricksy, fun and fairly easy to play.

Before the game came out, I was sure to main Commando Kano, as a Batman player, I pissed off a lot of people with his cape parry. But I was watching the Fatal 8 and something about Erron Black just drawed me to him (not Sonic Fox, but his play style). Batman was a rush down character and I needed a character in MKX that seemed just like that. The way Sonic played with him just got me excited and ready to learn him. It took me like 4 hours to get his BnB combos down pack and I was about ready to give up after my button mashing brother beat me countless times, but now I'm way better with him. I just want to know who will be my second character.

well i went from rush down 50/50's and speed in the flash to Takeda in a game all about rushdown 50/50's and speed LOOOOL. now i'm zoning and keeping people out as much as they were trying to do to me in INJ, its a huge changed but i picked it up pretty fast.

I didn't realize that NRS put O. Sagat in MK X in the form of Cybernetic Kano. The moment I threw the first knife I was sold.

No one tbh. I knew nearly a year ago that I'd be using Cassie. Her awesomeness just solidifies her spot as my main. I'm just surprised and slightly disappointed that Shinnok isn't as good as I thought he'd be.

I currently don't have anyone to play in MKX. I can only hope Frost gets add as DLC and that her variations are fun and have a good risk and reward to them. Most of the cast in my opinion are hit and miss with their variations or just boring.

I haven't practiced with Shinnok and I've only played 2 decent Shinnoks, but from what I can tell he doesn't have an overhead starter and his normals didn't seem that great. Kitana has good normals, really high damage, better zoning, and also no overhead starter. I don't see why someone would pick Shinnok over Kitana right now.

But like I said I don't actually know shit about Shinnok so I could just be wrong.

Surprised I'm still playing scorpion and equally that I'm not prioritizing mileena. She pretty wack.

Picked up Sonya but she's not online friendly at all lol.

Covert Ops Sonya Blade, she's a bonified bad ass in this game, I don't care what anyone else says. I never planned to main her because of how she looked in MK9 (DD Sized prostitute) but after seeing her in this game and how she played, she's just a bad ass.

Idk, as a Kitana player I've ran into a few bone shaper Shinnoks with some good mixups.

Somehow giving Jax a rocket launcher, a cigar, and the farm life filled my America up so high that I had to play him. Best decision I've made involving this game.

Seriously, I'm surprised that I'm maining Sonya in this game. I hated everything about her in MK9 but she is a major improvement in MKX.

i knew i was going to main sub-zero and was gonna try ferra/tor but after playing with kenshi in the tower for the trophy i'm pretty amused by his combos. they have so much swag and flow to them.

Raiden is a combo monster so I'll definitely be spending more time with him than I thought. That B14 into lightning ball run cancel is so satisfying to pull off.

Also just watched dink lay down the law on stream with Summoner Quan so I'll be looking more into that character as well.
